I would say the food is just as good as any other fish and chip shop, let 's remember we 're talking about fried potatoes here. I ordered a regular chips, sausage and curry sauce to take away and was charged over £10 for the privilege. I know prices have increased recently but am I wrong to consider this widely excessive. I just wish I had the nerve to laugh and walk out. And they tried to tell me they were 'cash only ' until I said I would only pay by card....then a card machine appeared, as if by magic.

I have been here before and had good fish and chips as a takeaway, as it was pouring with rain we decided to eat inside in the restaurant. The service was fair and the fish and chips good though quite small portions. The dink however was extortionate, £4.80 for a can of John Smiths bitter is ridiculous. All in all always good fish and chips but fish, chips, curry sauce with a can of beer at over £23 is just too expensive I will visit again but only as a takeaway.

Lovely old building with great history. Waited a while for meal to be served as the policy is to serve the downstairs takeaway customers first. Why they have speakers blaring out 1960s hits in such a beautiful setting, I cant comprehend. We had to ask staff to turn the racket down twice. Even then it was annoying. However, on the plus side the meal was first class when it came. Great fish n' chips. Just sort out the noisy music.

There’s a busy takeaway on the ground floor so ascending the stairs took us to the atmospheric seating area. White washed walls with dark brown timber make for a cosy traditional space. But most importantly the food was very good, with the fish dishes plus chips very tasty and satisfying. With a cool refreshing beer. Staff were pleasant and helpful and very efficient. Réservez une table maintenant

Firstly, I will say that the fish and chips were good. However the portions were minute. Ordered a large fish and chips, but the fish was tiny. Was told it was large, not many chips either. When I left, the takeaway counter didn't have anything as small as the portion I was served. Also wanted another £1 for a small sachet of tarteare sauce.

The BEST fish and chip shop in Gloucester so tasty and always go above and beyond. Reasonable prices. They have a lovely restaurant upstairs where you can sit and have food. Staff is soo friendly. Rebecca is so polite when welcoming customers in general. Only a 2 min walk from in the town centre. Food is 10/10

Very disappointed with the small fish and chips. The service was OK. Food was cold. The price was expensive in the restaurant. Had to pay extra for tartar sauce. I when here regular as a child. The food was great then. Piping hot. Don't think I will go back again.

Me and my frend who i have been friends with for over 50 years came in for a late lunch on March 5th we were bth very plesased with the food and service i had the steak and kidney pie chips and mushy peas my friend had the fish and chips with mushy peas Réservez une table maintenant

The olde fish and chip shop in Gloucester in fact the best ever. The staff are very friendly. If I am in town and fancy fish and chops I would not go anywhere else. Whether You dine in or take away the experience is great

Dropped in for a quick supper, friendly, fast, convenient. Fish and chips and a glass of wine. Close to centre of town as well.
