Served me meat, insisting it was vegetarian. My friend and I both ordered moussaka: 1 meat free (with vegetarian mince) and one meat. When we were served we checked we had been given the correct ones (they said the meat free one was garnished wth...Spinash and the one with meat garnished with watercress). I have tried various local food delivery options such as Indian, Chinese, Pizza, and Fish & Chips, but decided to try something new and came across Yiannis online. I placed an order at 6:15pm for a chicken and lamb gyro and a beef stafido for delivery at 8:30pm. Despite having to follow up twice, the delivery did not arrive until 9:15pm. The chicken was burnt and dry, the lamb consisted of three small shish kababs with a small pita and soggy oven chips, nothing like their website photos. The beef stafido was bland and tasteless. I ordered a Beef casserole and what came up was full plate of what looked like braising steak which could have either been cooked in a saucepan, or a tin of meat (not that I have ever had a tin of meat), with a few...shallots and that was it! Plus about 4 tablespoons of rice. I was expecting a beautiful casserole, a bit more like a stew, there was no liquid at all., just the sauce that the meat had been cooked in. It tasted ok, extremely salty. I was shocked, I've never had a meal like it in any restaurant. It was very disappointing. I left about a third of it. Takeaway not what we ordered. Given meat when ordered and paid for vegetarian mezze and collected it ourselves during petrol crisis. Got home and found wrong meal. They ignore all attempts at contact and offer no apology or attempt to rectify. The food we could...eat in the mezze that didn't contain meat was absolutely disgusting. We threw the meat in the bin but it wasn't even meat it was lumps of pork fat. Wouldn't feed it to a dog. Hands down the worse meal I have ever had anywhere. Avoid at all costs. we had a great evening at yiannis nice greeting from waiter..drinks quickly came from beautiful waitress..we had to wait a bit for eat, but it came hot ripped! two of us ordered lamb it was soft tender, veg was very hot we had. to wait a few minutes. another person ordered mixture grill was amazing. at other mealtimes we did not ask a cheese, this was not a problem, saw the lasagne fab...not one of us owed everything. my first to the other 4 was her third. Visit..i would glaze again.
Great food all around, the flavours took us back to our Greek holidays. My wife very rarely finishes a whole meal, but her plate of stifado was left empty, that says it all to our family. Pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. Finally, a Greek restaurant...with Greek people eating in it on a midweek evening is a good sign to me!
