With 6-10 restaurants to choose from, all located within close proximity, I let my children pick the spot. They excitedly entered Ying Wah and we prepared ourselves for a hearty meal. The COVID-19 protocols were excellent, with ample distancing in place and no issues with ordering. As we waited for our crispy fried duck, honey chicken, sizzling beef, and other dishes to arrive, my children entertained themselves by observing the restaurant. The friendly and attentive staff provided us with plenty of cold water in a large bottle, and the meal was served on a rotating "lazy susan" for easy sharing. I’ve ordered food from here 3 times in the last 4 months. Every time I thought “I’ll give them one more chance”, but that clearly hasn’t been the right choice. I’m a huge fan of Honey Chicken and generally no matter where you go you...can find a great tasting Honey Chicken, right? After 3 separate times, I can confirm that these guys just don’t nail it. Instead of being coating in a sticky glaze of honey, it’s more like a wet sauce- which means that the batter ends up super soggy. The flavour is weak and it’s just not satisfying like it should be. I’ve tried the pork rib with plum sauce and the pork rib with salt and pepper. Both were fine but nothing to rave about.
We have been getting take away and occasionally dining at Ying Wah Chinese restaurant for seriously years. It's your typical local Chinese restaurant, which is a fab go to place when you don't want to cook at home and just want something easy, tasty and fairly quick. Great menu options, always happy to cater for vegetarians (e.g in our house we have both meat eaters and vego's, they will alter their dishes to leave out the meat for you on request). Reasonably priced and friendly.
I have been coming to this restaurant for years and they never disappoint. I often bring my family for dinner and sometimes order takeaway. Their homemade Dim Sim and mini spring rolls are delicious. The Mongolian Lamb and sweet and sour pork are my favorites. The portion sizes are generous and the prices are very reasonable compared to other restaurants. I highly recommend this place for good value and great food.

Although it is a new addition to the area, having lived on the northern beaches for decades, we were disappointed with our experience at this new local Chinese restaurant. It is just one among many others in the area. We only tried two drinks and decided that we will not be returning for a meal.
As usual the food was fantastic as was the the service. I have been going to this Restaurant for many years and cant fault it or the staff!!!
Fabulous Chinese food, it’s like stepping back in time to the 1970s. Best curry prawns, like the ones at the Sebel townhouse
A great selection of honest Chinese food. The Take Away is always fresh, hot and tasty. The Special Fried Rice is SPECIAL!
