Rating the Food: Good Chinese BBQ Meats (7/10)Been here many times and the food is consistently good with their specialties being Cantonese BBQ Pork & Duck (seen hanging in the window). Also tried their Won Ton Soup which is good with decent, plump dumplings. They offer free tea & soup similar to many other Chinese eateries nearby. From the exterior Yu appears as a cheap and cheerful Chinese BBQ place located at the centre of Hurstville. However, the cheering ends with the food.
The BBQ pork and soy chicken were good but the roast duck lacked any flavour and the crispy skin pork was very fatty to the point it was inedible. The prices are slightly more than their competitors in the area. The service is quick and no nonsense.
Very average meal at best but might give them another chance to try something else.
Yum cha, we have been several times and tend to return because it's close to home. It's ok. It's busy. Like always busy. Food is ok. It tends to slow right down if you are not there right in lunch time. It's good but I've had better. It's worth driving/catching train to Chinatown Sydney for yum cha. We did the weekend after we went here.

Located conveniently next to Hurstville station, Yu Star serves up some very good Cantonese food at affordable prices. They have excellent sweet and sour pork ribs and do a very nice steamed barramundi with shallots and ginger. Highly recommended.

This place specialise in BBQ meats Chinese style. You can choose from roasted duck,pork and chicken. You can eat in or take out. Its authentic,tasty but not for vegetarians or those on a diet!
I am a huge fan of good Peking duck - the duck and the pancakes from Sunny BBQ were great. Parking is a bit of an issue, unless you use the Westfields Hurstville parking.

This is an amazing Chinese restaurant in an industrial/Colonial space.
