recently I decided to have yum cha as it has been forever. As I was on my own, it limits the amount of dishes you can try. The staff were friendly and the food was pretty much on the move around me all the time until they realised that I was enjoying the space I was in. By that stage, I couldn't decide whether I had a separate dessert stomach or not. Ultimately, I did and I am glad that I tried the sponge cake. It took a little while to arrive but it was a wonderful reminder of the College Pudding mum used to make when I was a kid - taste and texture of the sponge - and it had taro, what a lovely addition. To add to my dessert stomach I also have the mango pancake - always a tasty addition....
Hubby and I wanted yum cha, so went to Carindale instead of traipsing out to Sunnybank or over to Portside. We were seated and offered drinks and food instantly, and it just kept coming. We were offered the steamed items first, followed by the deep fried and most of it was seafood. Then I noticed some people getting deliveries of small plates which looked very inviting, so we asked and received a menu of sorts and ordered off this. These dishes ranged from about $8 to $10 (from memory) and would be my preferred way of eating there in future. They are really delicious and good value for money. The waiters are constantly bringing a wide variety of dishes around the tables. However, ordering something different from the menu was not easy. It was difficult to gain the "special courses" waiters attention to make an order and it took an exceptionally long time to be delivered. The others at the table were almost finished their various dishes before mine arrived and they had to wait whilst I ate it. It was a very large serving and was very tasty. My advice would be to eat the dishes that are brought around and you would have a very satisfying meal.

Had lunch here with 2 adults and an infant. Felt really comfortable having my little one there, even though he was throwing food, the staff were really nice and helpful. Food was quick and very tasty

This yum cha restaurant is consistently good and still very much better than what Sunnybank or Fortitude Valley outlets offer.
