Situated within a small shopping centre, we had seen this restaurant many times, but never visited. We went in early on a Sunday evening thinking we would try some take away, but in a whim decided to eat in, the decor is very basic but clean, and the welcome genuinely friendly. Upon being seated, we were immediately offered menus, given a complimentary basket of prawn crackers and glasses and a bottle of water. Last week we placed a large order for takeaway, ordered won ton soup only to find it was Lanka soup when we arrived home. Last night decided to try again, placed an order for won ton soup only to be told they were out of soup, then no pork spring rolls. Dim sims were about the size of marbles. The reason the girl gave for not having the things we ordered, was , they have opened another shop in Kingston and all their dumplings , won tons etc were taken to the new premises. I also ordered stir fried rice, only to find steamed rice in my order. Dennis , the chef at Yu's is from Singapore and certainly knows how to cook. His specialty on the menu is Yu's Fish-which we always order because it's a dish we've never found anywhere else. In a word , delicious!Hard to describe-but basically fish with a crunchy coating which just melts in your mouth. Dennis also makes a very good satay sauce which is as good as you'd find anywhere. All the dishes are well prepared.It's not a flash setting but the food is superb. They also do takeaways.
We tried takeaway from this restaurant last night as our usual Chinese restaurant in Kingston is closed for renovations.Big mistake,food was inedible & most ended up being thrown out which is a very unusual occurance in our home.Phoned restaurant to complain but no refund offered or an apology.Lesson learned,we definitely wont be back & can't wait for our favourite takeaway to reopen.

Never eaten at the restaurant, but have many times got take away and delivery. Seems a bit more authentic than most Australian-Chinese food. Salt and Pepper chicken awesome - although it can't be healthy. Always get the stir fried hokkien noodle - it shames most dedicated Noodle Box franchises!
This restaurant lacks somewhat in the atmosphere stakes, but makes up for it with the food. It appears to me that most of their business is takeaway, probably for the above reason. It is priced well and we haven't had a meal we haven't been happy with. Our kids love the food as well.
Friendly service, excellent authentic cuisine and great prices....perfect combination. We phoned ahead and enjoyed our meals take away, serve with complimentary prawn crackers. Would highly recommend.
The satay lamb and also sweet and sour pork steamed rice was about the best part I have never had such tough meat and in both meals very disappointed after paying good money

Restaurant is mainly a take away business, which is what we did. Serves were a good size, tasty, meats were good quality and cost was reasonable.
Food was good and service was ok. Place looked a bit tired but the food keeps us coming back. Worth dropping in if you are craving Chinese food.
