As a solo diner, it can sometimes be challenging to find a a restaurant where you aren't treated like an afterthought. I came into Zabala fairly late; most of the other diners were nearly done. The staff happily seated me and the waiter was impeccable and attentive. He kindly advised me that the salad and entree that I ordered might be too much food offered to bring a half salad instead. As for the meal, I had the potato salad and the grill pork. Both were outstanding in flavor and presentation. Topped off with a couple of glasses of house vino tinto made for a fantastic meal. With delicious bread and water, the meal came to 31€. Highly recommended!
Went here with two others and was highly impressed. The restaurant was quiet and the service excellent. The waitress knew just enough English to get by, just as well because there was no menu in English. The steak with foie gras, bacalao, and pork were all excellent. Food was very well presented and sauces and accompaniments were interesting and well flavoured. The highlight was the sopa de citricos (lemon soup) for dessert. It was beautifully presented and tasted just as good. The soup was exquisite light, full of flavour and not overly sweet. It was an excellent meal from a town full of really good restaurants.
Had lunch there. Every dish we ordered to share amongst the 7 of us was mouthwatering. We cherished every bite as all was cooked to perfection. The service was top standard too even if they informed us that the restaurant was full and food might be slow, it came out at a perfect pace. Desert: the best cheesecake I have ever eaten!!!! Most original presentation. Definitely a place to revisit!! Thumbs up guys.
We made a dinner in this restaurant. The place is nice and elegant. The food was superb. I recommend the croquetas and the Monkfish (made with vegetal coal). The service was really outstanding. They were taking real care of us without being overwhelming. The deserts also great. The price convinient for the quality. Definitely we will come back.
