If you are up to it, the Zhoumbie cocktail was my absolute favourite and it is very theatrical! It's quite a strong cocktail but it has a lovely fruity aftertaste. Food wise, you can't go wrong with the Dumplings. They are so delicious. I had the Satay Peanut Chicken and Asian Herb which were very juicy and had a nice flavour balance. I also had the Crispy Prawn Wontons which were my favourite, so much flavour!I couldn't go past the deserts and so tried the Chinese Wonka Dumplings. I love the food at The Oriental Teahouse so when I found out they had a bar upstairs I was keen to have a birthday celebration there. I was a bit frustrated with the booking approach, it was tough to speak to the right person the week leading up to the event to confirm and then I was told I'd have half the venue for my guests and when I arrived it had gone down to a third so I felt unheard and stressed at the start. We always go before dinner or after for a beer or ten but this place has an amazing selection. When a venue offers a unique offering like having over 50 Asian beers on its list it cannot go wrong in my mind. I have drunk alot of these however there is always something new and exciting to taste and stephen and the boys always know whats trending well. Beer and dumplings could turn me into a walking distarster however a trip to the gym the next day sorts this out... Zhou Zhou Bar & Lounge was discovered online by my daughter when researching South Yarra before we visited Melbourne. The concept of specialising in Asian beers is brilliant. Stylish kitsch decor and low lighting in an interesting building creates a great atmosphere. Add a beer menu with dozens of unusual brews from Asia along with a good cocktail list and you have a killer bar.I had a Japanese stout which was very good.

I arrived here at 7.30pm without a booking. It's very noisy. Great if you are you young and like yelling. The staff are very friendly and observant. One has to order at the bar and pay. I asked for a tab and gave my credit card. This was a good idea. The food was not authentic. No taste very bland. This place is great for after work drinks and nibbles. Not for dinner.
I'm really surprised that this place doesn't get more busy. The decor and cocktail list are all pretty cool. There aren't many nice bars down the South Yarra end of Chapel Street, so if you're in the area looking for somewhere then worth checking out. You can also order food there too if the restaurant downstairs is too busy.
I have the pleasure of having Zhou Zhou as the location for the hens party!! The food was beautiful, the bar staff were all so helpful and friendly and the DJ played all the good tunes! Will definitely making a pit stop here again next time I'm in Chapel St! Thank you!!
Drinks here are really great and they have a huge selection of the best Japanese whiskey. The dumplings are amazing and there is a nice chilled atmosphere to relax and mellow out.

Had a great night. A must if you love Japanese Whisky and Beer. Upstairs from oriental tea house with lots of appetising snacks to compliment the drinking. Loved it.
Nice place for the start of a good night or a simple cute date.
