Absolutely loved this place. Traditional German Brews from 1516 recipes . This is an adult friendly AND family friendly brewery. The layout of the pub is clever and I wish more breweries did this. The adult only section has a comfortable lounge and pool table completely separate from the romper room. Communal table's separate the areas. If you sit at the communal table's you can get a Stein for the price of a pint! There's also a private room available for private party's. Happy hour is 3pm to 5:30 and 9 pm till close. The restaurant has recently undergone a transformation and is now called The Zed. It continues to brew and serve Zoiglhaus beer, but has introduced individual food pods and a cocktail lounge. They are still in the process of expanding, and the Lents Farmer's Market will be located inside the venue, complete with garage doors that can be opened during nice weather. Overall, it's a fantastic concept, and the food is delicious—especially the offerings from Sherpa Kitchen!
First time coming here the boot was 2Liters way bigger then I thought, it won this time, the fish n chips were really good the cod tasted fresh the fries that came with it were amazing love thin crispy Fries! The fried pickles were decent just don’t like speared fried pickles too much. My girlfriend ordered the chicken salad with the IPA ranch the salad wasn’t bad she just didn’t like the taste of the chicken almost like it had been sitting out for a while.
Pretty great experience here last weekend. If you like German beer and/or food, this is a great spot for the Portland area. Gathered with friends at the bar and the bartender, Tim, was very knowledgeable. He remembered the entire order including a flight of 6, appetizers and some pints. This restaurant offers fantastic food in a laid-back atmosphere. The dishes are excellent, perhaps almost too generous in portion sizes. It's a wonderful spot for a date or just hanging out with friends. Just make sure you're aware of the location change—it seems to have moved to the other end of the block.
This is a fantastic little place with a diverse menu, featuring the brewery's own bratwurst and sauerkraut. Trivia night is on Wednesdays, and they have live music on weekends, making it a wonderful neighborhood hangout. Just keep in mind that they close earlier than most bars. Definitely worth a visit!
