The Zouki Café based at Williamstown Hospital is accessible & open to both the 'public' & hospital patrons alike. It has the appearance of clearly once being a part of the original hospital building itself due to the style & structure of the café however they have given the room / area a fresh coat of white paint, added a splash of bright green by way of a feature wall & installed a large display case full of sandwiches & cakes thus creating this café space.There are tables & chairs both inside & out with the latter being in a small courtyard seemingly adjacent to the rear of the emergency department. The prices are on the higher side, with a small cappuccino costing $4.50. Unfortunately, my cappuccino was bland and lacked the vanilla syrup I had ordered. The service at Zouki Café was extremely poor. Despite struggling with a broken toe and being in pain, the staff seemed uninterested in serving me. I had trouble finding the entrance to the café and once inside, the staff ignored me in favor of chatting with a hospital employee. The atmosphere of the restaurant was reminiscent of a cafeteria, as it was quite casual. However, the menu offered a variety of options including sandwiches, pastries, and cakes. My coffee was decent and the pastie I ordered was very tasty. My biggest complaint was that all the cutlery for dine-in customers was disposable, as were the plates and cups. The plastic knife provided was not able to cut through the thick pastry of my pastie on the small plate it was served on.
