Gaststätte Zum Holzwurm

Being a short walk from the Amedia Boardinghouse / Best Western hotel and reading up on other TripAdvisor reviews, we visited this restaurant with biergarten.The service is great, the location is doable but offers plenty of room when seated in the biergarten (haven't actually been inside with the lovely weather) and the drinks are good and cool.The food is actually far beyond anything we expected, as the taste is magnificent and the choice is broad. The prices are low to boot, even for biergarten standards. On both occasions we visited here we were able to enjoy a full meal with extras, lovely desserts matching the menu pictures, plenty of drinks and leave room for a decent tip for 50 Euros...

It's not easy to find if you are new in area, but no worries, Google it. Thanks to my Croatian friend Mladen Celezic for telling us about it. We went there in a small group of friends. It's a beautiful restaurant. You can sit inside the restaurant or in outer terrace or in beer garden. They have a large screen TV for sports events. If you're going on a match evening, book your table in advance.They have a huge menu with lot of cuisines. You can opt for smaller portions also but I promise you won't. Choose your salad from their fresh salad bar. Soups, starters, desserts everything has a great taste & flavor. You will visit this place again & again.Service was excellent. I couldn't understand...

We were staying in a nearby hotel, flying out of FRA the next afternoon. The hotel restaurant wasn't attractive so we walked a couple of blocks to Zum Holzwurm. We didn't expect much but were pleasantly surprised. We had an excellent dinner. Very hot that day so we ate outside on the 2nd floor deck - lovely breeze and we watched a spectacular sunset.My husband had goulash soup - how he could eat it in that heat I don't know but he did and enjoyed it. It was schnitzel Tuesday - a choice of a bunch schnitzels with different sauces for less than 10 euros. Mine was excellent. Good salad bar. Good beer and cold by German standards..

I enjoyed three excellent meals at this restaurant. The food is a mix of European cuisines and quite imaginatively presented. Service was outstanding and the setting was delightful. The entrance is a little odd, being in a building shared with a canoe club but when you go upstairs to the restaurant there's certainly a wow factor. I particularly enjoyed the cheese-filled meat patty and I got to try zander for the first time. There's a self-service salad bar with a good selection of items. You certainly won't leave unsatisfied.I'd definitely return for a fourth meal.

The place was packed on a Sunday evening, mostly locals plus a few travelers from nearby hotels. Two female staff served 20+ tables doing everything, from taking orders, drafting beer, serving drinks and food, collecting payments and cleaning and preparing the tables for the next guests ... very impressive. The food was very tasty, we tried some Balkan dishes, mixed grilled or pan-fried meats. The portions are quite big, the prices are not. Would definitely go there again.

We stopped at the Holzwurm for lunch! You would never think that there is such a nice and cozy restaurant in the sports club.They have a nice outside area downstairs and you even can sit on the two balconies. The inside is very nice as well. We enjoyed the lunch. The food was very delicious and the portion were quite big! Service was very attentive and friendly.If you like Croatian German food you will love it there.

Not the easiest to find if you don't know the area. In case you can't find it, it's next the the "West" shopping centre behind Baumarkt. Lots of typically German dishes - and great-tasting too! Can be a little pricey if you get carried away, but they often have tables available and you don't necessarily need to book. If you're in the area, give it a try. You won't be disappointed!

We walked here from the Mecure Airport hotel not expecting much, but had one of the best meals we had in Germany. A great salad bar, nice beer, and the option of smaller portions for seniors, which was just what was needed after some of the huge meals we had had recently.

This restaurant has a huge menu and specials for every day of the week. I visit this place every Tuesday with my colleagues. On Tuesday they serve "Schnitzel" with lots of different gravy. Its very tasty and cheap as well. definitely worth a visit.

When in Raunheim we always make it a point to go to this restaurant for our favorite Schnitzel and beer. They have a great salad bar and food and service is great aside from being very affordable.
