Hidden in the valley of the Passade lies the inn “Zur Ortmühle”. This is about 10 km southeast of Lemgo and north-east of Detmold. In 1709 a grain and oil mill was built there. The right of mill expulsion was transferred to the builder according to the law of the mill. Since a daughter of the builder married the Müller Arend Hermann Mesch from the Broker Mill in 1726, the Ortmühle has fed almost without interruption all descendants with the name Mesch, and held the fidelity of the mill until 1956. Since 1634 the Müller generations bear the name Mesch. Due to this number of years, today's landmark of the local mill was created, the house coat: Lippian rose with mill wheel, the initial letter...
