Having decided to use our Tesco club card vouchers to in effect travel to France for the day for free when converted to a Le shuttle ticket, myself and my wife were without the children for the first time on one of these trips, as such we wanted to do something other than travel to Calais as we had done on similar trips with the children in the past. An article here from ferrycrossings/travel-guides/france/villages-near-calais listed 6 Places to visit within easy reach of Calais. I wanted to visit Batterie Todt which was a second world war gun position so looked for the nearest town from this list, which happened to be Audresselles. Just 30 mins drive from Calais and as advertised containing a lovely beach but as listed on Trip Advisor this amazing shell fish restaurant. As per the bits of advice from other reviewers here having selected this restaurant as the top rated in town and being shell fish lovers, I called to book a table. My French is not good and the person I spoke to only had a few words in English but we managed to secure a booking. Unfortunately having already booked an inflexible Le Shuttle service we were not due to arrive in Calais until 12:15 and though I attempted to book at 13:00, I was advised only 12:30 was available. I took the booking more in hope than expectation and on the day the Euro Tunnel service was up the wall so we did not even get to the town until 13:30. Parking was difficult as it is limited in town and where we did park on the curb later appeared to have resulted in someone having keyed/scraped my car door which put a dampener on events. At the restaurant, the staff advised that there was no space but once we confirmed we had booked they took pity on us and said there maybe a space in the outside eating area in 15 mins. The opening hours listed confused me a little as it details that it is open until 2 pm for lunch but it appears that is when they stop taking orders rather than closing. The outside eating area is covered and watching other people eat their amazing fruit de mare platters was exciting, whilst we waited to order ours. Anyone who comes here and does not order fruit de mare in the various sizes and shell fish combinations available is asking for trouble and if you don't plan on doing so then my advice is to eat somewhere else as this restaurant is geared up for fruit de mare. We chose the option which included half a crab, shrimp, king prawns, snails

The his is by far the best adress in North of France, the fresh dishes are a pleasure to see, and much more to eat ! As it was not really the season of lobster, ours was not good, they relacedit immediatly what was very nice and good

I really do not want more people to come here as they were turning people who had not booked away at a rate of knots! I would like to ensure we can always get a table. The best seafood - fruit de mar superb, fresh, perfectly presented and the crabs and lobsters wereMonsters - luckily they gave us a doggy bag to take what we could not eat away with us. Great muscadet wine to go with and the prices were very reasonable. Also recommend the baby selection if puddings with coffee - 6.50 euros - bargain.

We nipped over to France for the day, usually we go for an overnight stay. Anyway get off the train go to Majestic Wine and replenish the wine rack. Drive along the wonderful coast to Audresselles where your find the delightful little bistro by the name of La Marie Galante . You'll find a menu that suits every palette especially those who enjoy their fish as of course your on the coast and fish is definitely fresh from the sea. We found this little gem some years ago and go at least 3 times a year, it's a must.

This is a must for Seafood Lovers. Great food and Great Value. We happened to be taking the coast road from Bolougne to Calais and came across this pleasant small town.

By writing this review, people will want to go here. It's not a massive restaurant and it'll just become too popular and we'll never get to eat here again...Okay, the headlines ... Friendly service, great value for money and super food whichever direction you look in. The food on your own table is great. The food on the next table looks amazing and so on.For 70 Euros for lunch, for a family of four, this was very, very good for anybody that likes sea food.
