A proper pot of tea served in a china pot with china cups and a lovely choice of cakes to go with it. As I cannot eat gluten I choose to go here as all cakes are gluten free and it was so nice to have a choice of home made cakes - lemon drizzle, chocolate and carrot. Soup is also available. There is a choice of sitting inside or outside in this charming tea room in a little village - we will return soon and can recommend it to everyone.

We were visiting friends in the Cognac region and they were raving about this 'Salon de the' that they had visited the previous week, and being tea room lovers, off we went. January Moore, the proprietor, was the perfect hostess. She made us feel very welcome as if she had known us for years. The tea room is in her own home and is quintessentially English and quirky with bold colours, mismatched China and a warm cosiness. You can either sit inside or outside dependent on the weather and you can stay as long as you want so it's a lovely way wile away the time. All the teas and coffees are organic, and all the cakes are gluten free so everyone can enjoy them. We had a pot of tea with January's carrot cake and chocolate cake. They were delicious and satisfying. It would have been a crime not to try something else so the wife had the fruit cake and I had a lemon curd muffin made with January's own home made lemon curd. To tell you it was the tastiest cake I've ever had would not do it justice. As a result we bought 4 jars of January's lemon curd to take home. She also makes a range of marmalades, jam, and chutneys to a secret recipe, all of which are available to buy. We had a lovely time and as and when we are in the area again we will return. We thoroughly recommend the tea room to you. You will not be disappointed.

Tucked away in a hamlet you will find this tea and coffee room. Through the romantic garden you will enter the tea room where you have the feel of a 'living room' with tables with flowery table cloths, china coffee and tea cups and of course a choice of lovely cakes. There are larger tables or tables for 2.There is also a selection of coffee served in a cafetiere and fresh tea (leafs) served in one of the lovely tea pots. The lady owner is very friendly and you can buy cakes, jams, chutneys, etc. all home made. Please check opening hours because it's not always opened.

The décor was gorgeous and we loved the beautiful bone china tea cups. The potato and leek soup was delicious as were the crumpets AND the Rolo chocolate cake was scrumptious. Such a lovely atmosphere, will definitely recommend and go again.

Called in today to collect one of January's lovely Christmas Puddings. Could not resist the Pumpkin and Sweet Potato Soup , closely followed by a slice of the divine Carrot Cake. All served with lovely English Tea. Neither could we resist the wonderful home made chutneys and jams. The only problem is, how do you choose which jars to take home ?

Wonderful spot for a light lunch with friends or afternoon tea with January's great home made cakes which are all gluten free. Good quality tea and plenty for refills, well worth the drive to cheer up a dull December day.

Tucked away in a quiet hamlet this is a true gem. Very pretty tea room with gorgeous decor and a welcoming hostess this is definitely worth venturing off the beaten track. The teas and coffees are extremely high quality and refilled free of charge! There is always a great selection of gluten free cakes and scones ( I promise you will not notice they are gluten free) my favourite is the carrot cake and I will ring ahead and reserve a slice for next time and of course some more to bring home. Definitely worth a visit and a revisit.
