Definitely the highlight of our trip to France! The staff, the experience, the setting and by no least the food - all spectacular. Thank you so much for providing such a delicious vegetarian menu for us.

booked lunch to celebrate a birthday. We had the menu gourmand which at €70 was extremely good value. 6 wonderful courses all beautifully presented with great ingredients. The veal wellington was particularly good. Great service and an extensive wine list which ranged from good value to very expensive! Highly recommended and worth a revisit.

This is a top class restaurant with great food and great staff. My wife and I had a really special lunch there last week. It had been recommended by the staff at Camus Cognac. Food was great with some very unusual and interesting twists. Wine list was long but great choice and some good value. We sat on the terrace for our first 2 courses but as the afternoon got hotter, we requested if our dessert could be served inside - no problem. My only gripe is that they charge €6.90 for a 75cl bottle of Badoit, probably 10 times the supermarket price - a little bit greedy for water!

My wife and I had Le Menu a la Decouverte D'un Terroir which features seven courses built around the melanosporum truffle of Jarnac. It is very difficult to describe our favorite course since each was very unique, excellently prepared and beautifully presented. My wife's favorite was L’émulsion de fromage de chèvre frais, noisettes torréfiées et truffe fraîche which was very young goat cheese whipped with saltwater. This is an exceptionally creative, unusual and tasty dish. I loved each dish but the La coquille Saint-Jacques crue marinée à la truffe noire, panacotta de topinambours, betterave Chioggia which was very thinly sliced scallops and beet root served over a slice of pannacota was exceptional. Le snickers chocolat caramel et éclats de truffe may have looked like a Snickers but, believe me, you will find nothing approaching this masterpiece in a candy counter. Service was very good although we were left without wine at one point and since our bottle was kept elsewhere during the meal, we could not pour it ourselves. This was, however, a minor inconvenience. All in all, this was one of the most exceptional meals we have ever had.

Was recommended this restaurant by the owner of our holiday villa as somewhere to go for a special meal....and we have to say we were not disappointed.the setting along side the river Charente just added to the occasion.wonderful food...beautiful to look at and even better to taste, washed down with wine from a very comprehensive wine list, so all in all a near perfect experience ....but if only for the attitude of what appeared to be the 'head waiter' who I thought could have smiled a bit more to the customers who are paying this sort of money and made them feel more welcome (the rest of the staff were perfect)

We were passing through the pretty village of Bourg Charente looking for somewhere to have a light lunch when I spotted La Ribaudiere. From the roadside it looked like pretty cafe, only when I reached the door did I realise that it was a fine modern restaurant. I explained to the patron/chef that we did not have the time for a full blown Sunday lunch he directed us to his Bistro menu & we sat on stools adjacent to the bar. The 3 course set menu that followed was the same quality fine dining experience as the main restaurant with cut down portions, & cut down prices at 28 euros/head. Our fish terrine starters followed by excellent shoulder of lamb & mixed desserts were all superb. La Ribauderie is a 'must go' restaurant in the Jarnac area & next time we shall stay for the full dining experience.
