Was disappointed after reading the reviews. One good thing about the restaurant was that it was open when everything else was shut. It may be that we arrived a little late for lunch at 1.50, I don't know, but we felt like an inconvenience rather than a valued paying customer.I tried to order something off the meat menu but was told I could only have pizza or galette. Since my wife had ordered spaghetti already I assumed this was allowed as well and ordered the same. As we were eating our spaghetti the lady host brought out an item from the meat menu for another table... not sure why different rules applied. The spaghetti bolognaise was OK, nice and tomatoey and a decent portion, but it reminded me of bolognaise I've had cooked in a motor home from frozen mince. Nice enough in certain situations, but not really in a restaurant...Service was hot and cold, as mentioned we felt like an inconvenience, as it seemed was an old boy who came in later for a coffee. The lady host didn't seem in a very good mood and it looked like an effort for her to put on her service face.Needless to say we got out as quickly as possible and certainly weren't going to stay for dessert or coffee unfortunately.

Friendly service and fantastic food that will not break the bank. Pizzas are more than large enough and cooked with a lovely thin, crisp base. Plenty of locals collecting take away orders.

Nice little restaurant with lots of nearby parking.Small outside seating area in the road...... a little unnerving at times as the combine harvesters drove by turning the table umbrellas as they went.....DON'T let this deter you!Very busy at lunchtime, especially as it was a beautiful day. Service a little slow at times as only two women running the bar and restaurant but they were doing a fantastic job so again....DON'T let this deter you!Very tasty menu made it hard to chose, and the food going to other tables looked delicious. Something for everyone from Pizza to Pasta and Steak to Gallettes. We ordered a variety of pizza's and gallette's and I can a sure you it was well worth the wait! Definitely fresh and definitely delicious..... washed down with a glass of something cold.Definitely recommend this restaurant if you are passing through Carrouges or are planning to visit the local Château.

Make you feel very welcome, couldn't recommend enough. Try the duck it's out of this world, decor is cute and what you would expect in a tiny French village restaurant/bar. We couldn't speak a word of French but the menu is pretty self explanatory.

The food and drink were excellent and well worth a visit if in the area. It's centrally located in this small village and has both inside and outside seating.

We've eaten here many times and have never been disappointed. Whether you feel like a pizza, salad, galette, meat main course...., it ticks all the boxes. Everything is prepared in house, so you can ask for eg 'no mushrooms' as it's all fresh. Have had pizzas galore, salads (highly recommend the Giga Carrougienne - large, very healthy and delicicous, but they have many more which look equally as lovely). Also have tried the duck which was v tasty too. Galettes look fab. Hosts are really friendly and welcoming, the ambiance is great - typical French style :-) Children are welcome and it's a great place for a stop off if you're visiting the region. Loads to see and the chateau de Carrouges is lovely. Just a lovely place to have a relaxed meal. Haven't had a desert yet as am always full, but they look lovely, especially the mousse au chocolat. Enjoy!

From the street, this creperie looks like a bar with just a few tables outside, but there is a pleasant dining room inside, rustic in style and with some interesting photographs on the walls. As it advertised itself as specialising in pancakes, we both decided to have the galettes. They came freshly-cooked (we could smell them cooking!) and with ample fillings, while the service was friendly and efficient:It’s not fancy cooking, but what it sets out to do, it does well. And we were really pleased to find it open on a Sunday.

The waitress was rude when we asked for more wine with the 'all included' menu, and charged us an extra 7€Service best described as grumpy.
