We stopped here for lunch one day and just had one course each which was perfect. There were lots of locals eating here and the atmosphere was very pleasant.

Exactly what you want from a French village bar / restaurant. The owners are exceptionally friendly and genuine, going out of their way to accommodate special requests (notably for my fussy eating kids - Henri asked "what do they like - I'll cook it!" when I brought them last time, this time.My favourite is the Confit of Duck. It's a speciality of the region if you don't agree with its production - don't eat it, just don't bother making a song and dance about it because it's very popular round here.

L'Atrium is right in the heart of the lovely village of Cazes-Mondenard, directly opposite the Mairie. It is run my Marie and Henri and has plenty of seating both inside and on their terrace. The Restaurant is popular with the very friendly locals, Henri's food is lovely and the atmosphere is very friendly.Cazes-Mondenard is slightly off the beaten track, but it is worth a detour to go there to eat. I would recommend checking when they are open as, like many restaurants in this part of Fance, their opening hours vary throughout the year. You can call them on 05 63 05 16 46 - both Marie and Henri speak good English. The village has a church, schools, a Tabac, a small Casino food shop, plenty of parking and a wonderful baker's shop. It is about a 15 minute drive from Lauzerte, 20 minutes from Moissac.L'Atrium hosts regular curry nights, and quiz nights, which are very popular, especially with the local Brits.

I have family in the village and each time we visit we always insist on coming in for a meal. It's always friendly and welcoming and the food is always hearty and tasty.

The food was very good, in taste and in portion. The staff was very nice, you can come with kids or kust together,so it is really a place you should go.

Stopped for lunch whilst exploring the area. Good menu du jour with a couple of choices for each course, couple of beers and pichet of rose for €36. Good value and delicious! If you're in a hurry go inside and eat with the locals; the terrace service was slower, but if you're on holiday it doesn't really matter.

What a lovely surprise. Asparagus. Fantastic dessert - we had strawberry crumble & lemon meringue. Absolutely lovely.

Every village should have a cafe/restaurant like the Atrium. Bar for the locals in the front room, a small sunny outside terrace for a coffee or drink, a good quality, modestly-priced restaurant in large bright back room and a daily changing menu, all home-made.There are several formules at lunch time, with the most reasonable at 13.50€ which includes a buffet starter (crevettes, boulots, often smoked salmon and cured ham!), a plat du jour and a glass of wine and a coffee. Open every lunch time ( except Monday), L'Atrium is only regularly open on Friday and Saturday nights, but the menu in the evening is more elaborate, with more choice. The chef, well-travelled, uses unusual ingredients and puts a lot of thought into presentation. Newly-opened, the Atrium deserves to succeed. It is a beacon of good home-made food at a modest price in an area sorely lacking in such restaurants. But, judging by the tables of large groups of people enjoying family celebrations, it's well on its way to becoming a local institution!
