We were looking for a restaurant with savoyard specialities with my husband. We stopped at that restaurant. So we took a raclette. Everything seems to be correct but when I saw the price of the raclette that is 24€/People and in the tray for 2 there were 2 slices of cooked ham, raw, 4 grayons and 4 pancetta ben we were disappointed. No quantity. Not against, the service is fine. for the child menu of our two louloux they had a nice piece of chopped steak. Clean restaurant, friendly and welcoming staff but I find it expensive compared to the dishes that serve. Too bad.
We had a traditional raclette at le Monchu. The restaurant ambience felt very cosy and warm (chaleureuse.) The service was great, punctual and helpful. We got the traditional raclette which differs from the usual electric raclette. It uses hot coals stored in a small oven behind the cheese to melt the top layer of the cheese. It's a great experience for anyone to try when they visit the Savoie area, and not all restaurant have it served this way. Highly recommended, mostly on a cold day.
We had a good family party at the monchu. service is fast and friendly. concerning the dishes: the cheese crust was very tasted, maybe a little too much garlic on the bread to our taste. I had chosen the summer vegetable salad to goat: amazing! Only flat, there might be a little too much olive oil. The dessert gourmet tea was perfect.
an amazing raclette! If you are lovers of this cheese, don't doubt it, it's a gastronomic experience. we always do it with the typical racquette, but in the French style with its brasita is very fun and cozy. you can go with children. raclette 25€ pax. remember to order the water without being charged.
pleasant reception in this savoyard setting with in addition a very large terrace. large restaurant with lots of cutlery but an effective service.Svoyard specialties rather good and excellent blueberry pie. On the other hand, replace the anticipated beautyfort on the menu in the cheese plate with an insipid raclette cheese without preventing, without apology, without reducing the addition, it is lacking consideration for customers. Too bad!! (the waitress showed sympathetic, the leader did not)
After two beautiful days walking in the mountains we ate in this restaurant a little by chance but were not disappointed! very good meal ( raclette on the first night and a fondue on the second ) very well served, the waiters are smiling and we spent two nice evenings despite the worries with the cb machine.I would go back to my next passage on chamonix.
