Came across this restaurant just by chance when visiting the château for the first time. Have been wanting to visit since they reopened in 2013 after many years of restorations and I am only a 20 minute drive away. We arrived in town at lunch time and this restaurant caught our eye. It is probably slightly pricey considering this is outside of Paris but they must be able to capitalize on the château right across the street. We both had the menu at 37.50 with “plat, entrée, dessert.” No regrets because the cuisine was inventive with an unexpected wonderful mix of flavors, all fresh and very delicious and superbly presented. A special mention for the pan-seared tuna and all the various items on the plate with it, truly divine. The white wine I had, however, was only average. All this with very friendly and efficient service and with a good dose of humor added in, far too rare in France when dining out! Be careful to check you bill. They charged us for two coffees and we only had one, and which I did not discover until after we got home. Even though it was August it was not particularly warm out so the outdoor terrace was not being used. Indoors they have two dining areas, both very nice but different. We chose the lower room next to the road as it was smaller, cozier and the acoustics were much better than the other dining area just a few steps up from the entry. All in all, a very good dining option and we would certainly return again!

back to the castle's enclosure, the welcome is warm with a quick set up in the lower room a little noisy when all the tables are occupied. sober decoration, table well erect. Careful and professional service. The cuisine has proven to be delicious with well-developed and tasteful sauces.The desired cooking has been treated and respected. the canette magret deserves to be advised. waiting between the dishes is quite reasonable. The value-price ratio is of good quality to the perfectly mastered quality of the dishes; We went back satisfied with the intention of returning there without apprehension;

reservation made for 13 August 2017 - 12h30. very good reception. rather nice interior room, decorated with current tastes. nice exterior, small vegetable setting arranged along the side wall, would no longer miss the restaurant wall being also decorated with trillis to give it more charm and that the car parking in front of the gate is a little further. On the kitchen side, we have very well eaten, the dishes come out of the ordinary and are prepared home. from the real kitchen. It is ideally placed a few meters from the entrance of the castle for a visit in the afternoon.

a few steps from the castle, we wanted to have a family lunch in a place that we did not know: the fence of the field castle on marne. the discovery is magnificent: warm welcome, table very well arranged with beautiful dishes, the menu of the wines wide and very correct in terms of prices. the great surprise came from the dishes served with a piece of the butcher of remarkable tenderness, fish served as a brig leaf to the perfect cooking...and ultra-rich desserts (a beautiful helène miam, gourmet coffee more than gourmet for gourmets.) in short a restaurant where you have to go without hesitation better than that: it is worth the trip. The castle comes after... for the digestive ride! a good hearer.

before a visit to the castle of fields for the exhibition of the costumes of the beautiful era in the wild years a good meal was required at the close of the castle, the aperitif accompanied by small delicious verrines, until dessert, everything is refined; the perfect service with the super friendly staff, the top!!!
