We booked a visit of the winery followed by an evening meal in the restaurant. The visit was very informative and the guide was friendly and extremely knowledgeable. He also spoke fluent English which made the experience even better. We also got to taste a couple of Malbec wines. The restaurant offers a choice of set menus. We went for the most expensive menu which offered a choice of 2 starters/ 2 mains/ 2 desserts. As we wanted to try everything, my partner and I ordered different starters/ mains/ desserts. And every single dish was delicious! With our meal, we also tried the rose and white wine made in the winery and both were stunning! The food was sophisticated without being pretentious, the service was good and the staff friendly. And all this in a stunning location. Highly recommended.

We had reservations for lunch after our visit to Pech Merle. The meal did not disappoint. We enjoyed a bottle of local wine with our meal. The service was excellent and we enjoyed a pleasant meal with friends. My only disappointment was the weather did not allow us to tour the winery. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area.

We booked a visit to the winery and dinner via the sister Chateau, Chateau du Mercues. The vineyard visit was excellent and we learnt a lot about the area and making Malbec wine. It was not rushed at all and included a tasting of the wonderful wines, which we had to get, they were so good. Dinner did not disappoint either, beautifully presented and very good indeed. The service was exceptional, thank you.

on the menu first dish fois gras with smoked eel. sounds good! the smoked eel is a piece of size: thick 2,5 mm bij length 9 mm. a magnifying glass is helpful. one could also mention a dish of caviar with 3 eggs. the fois gras has the size and the thickness of two small sizes of salami with no taste. main plate sea bass, one filet not really fresh. the dessert: a tarte with two lemons. small round piece with two drops of each. the good wine of the region is sold at an average price of 5 euro there 20 euro

Our 4th visit and still the ambience is superb. After discovering this Vineyard by accident and then enjoying a meal here every year since, I can confidently say the quality have surprised and delighted me every time. The wine is the regions finest and the food is a quality match, supported by dedicated service personel and a dramatic dining enviroment. If you are within a 100klm radius ( and thats us - 120 klms) your trip will be well worth the drive. Thanks and look forward to seeing you next year.

First let me say, I have eaten at many wonderful restaurants and I am very fussy! Today, I had the absolute pleasure of eating lunch at Chateau de Haute-Serre. The chef here is excellent, he has a light touch which lets each ingredient sing. The fish soup with saffron is delicate but deep, my fish main was cooked to perfection, melting in my mouth, the reduction simply exquisite, the cheese platter generous and the desserts to die for. The service was excellent and the atmosphere relaxed. All in the most beautiful surroundings, really one couldn't ask for more, other than the price, all for under £35!I urge anyone who appreciates beautiful food in a beautiful restaurant..take the D6 out of Cahors for 10 mins and have a wonderful meal!

Last week we stayed in a lovely B+B near Cahors, and our host recommended Haute-Serre which we'd read about online, and he passed us a brochure with the restaurant address. But it was IMPOSSIBLE to find, between our rental car's creaking GPS and the brochure's cryptic address (see photo): there is no street address, and the village Cieurac is exactly 3km away (we know as we asked neighbors walking in this village-in-nowhere in the dark). The MOST useful info would be to say that it is located 3km from Cieurac on the D6..then at least the GPS (in theory) could pick up that street and you could find it. We tried both for lunch and dinner and found ourselves on ghostly roads, one-way dead-ends and desolate stretches at night that could have come out of Sleepy Hollow. Interesting in a fun way but left us hungry,.

A little difficult to find, but was a delicious treat when you do. We came for lunch and it was just the best. You drive up to the chateau and there is a separate building fot the bottling and the restaurant. Before you go into this building, you look around and you are surrounded by acres and acres of vinyards . Take a little walk and view this sight. When you enter the restaurant it is not what you expect. It is very modern and just beautiful. The menu was composed of set menus and the choices were sufficient to have a great tasting meal. We had the least expensive set menu at 29 Euros. The first course was a cooked egg, eggplant caviar and chorizo. The dish arrived and it was delicious. The egg was a little flat and I do not know how they did this. The main dish was a necklace of pork and it was equally amazing. Finally for dessert we had poached pears with almons ice cream. Great!! The wines are not expensive and the whole meal was relatively inexpensive. Our waiter Matthew was just so nice and after the meal we took a tour of the bottling area in the back of the buidling. We bought a few bottles of wine and were sorry we did not buy more when we drank the later in the week. For an unforgettable experience, try lunch here.
