Has a great atmosphere. Serves lovely freshly home cooked meals. The bar even serves it's own specially brewed beer. Anthony and Hannah originally come from Wales so for any of you Ex pats out there visiting this lovely little village with very little French they will give you a warm Welsh welcome.

Anthony and Hannah run this beautiful place where almost everything is homemade and delicious. Their love for authentic and local products is contagious - and now they brew their own beer, named "la bave du luma" since Cluis is the capital of escargots :p

This Café is situated in Cluis which is famous for it's crop of Snails, that's right the delicious shelled objects that crawl up your wall. The layout is very much like a traditional pub or Inn and very welcoming. The food is cooked entirely from local produce, they make their own bread and brew their own beer it all and tastes very fresh. The restaurant is small and at weekends it can be very busy so it's a good idea to book in advance. For Ex-pats and visitors who are looking for good beer this is the place to be, courtesy of the Welsh owners.Highly recommended.

Run by an English couple, this restaurant serves excellent French cuisine. We ate there in the evening and although the plat du jour was rabbit, which my wife didn't fancy, the proprietor readily offered us an alternative, which was freshly cooked and very good. The decor is very atmospheric and the ambiance is relaxed. The owner is very friendly and chatted away to us all in entertaining fashion! We will definitely eat there again when we next visit Cluis (which also has two bakers, two butchers and several other shops, pretty good considering its size).

We came across this gem of a restaurant in Berry last summer. It is a cosy and welcoming place. The food is locally sourced, beautifully cooked and presented. We ended a super lunch with the biggest selection of cheeses we'd ever seen. The British owners provide excellent service. There is even a hand pumped bitter on sale. We will definitely return.

The place is beautiful and charming. Perfect for a great meal while doing tourism, home office working and/or for having a nice gathering among friends. The owners are really nice, speaking perfect english and french. They used to owned "Chaumerettes" in Gargilesse. The quality of the food and service remains the same, although the place now is more cozy. Food is 100% home made. Decoration and food presentation resemble sophisticated-warm-family french campagne.

Superb place to eat and drink. Exceptional home cooked food. You can also get a pint of bitter amongst other beers. But, just give them a phone call before you arrive to eat and reserve a table. They might be full.

This is an exceptional place, run by the previous owners of the "Chaumerettes" in Gargilesse. Still the same cuisine, all home-made and delicious. Unlike the previous place the Cafe is a real cozy place in the centre of Cluis. We advice to call before you go, as there is just the "menu du jour", so you may wish to know what today's menue will be.On special order, you may enjoy the best fish in the area.
