We have been a couple of times to this tearoom in Cluny and the service wasn't very good. Last year we ordered a cake for my mothers birthday from the shop in Macon and this year I needed to order a cake for my fathers 70th birthday surprise and was pleased that they have a website. As I live in Switzerland I wanted to order the cake from somewhere I knew before my arrival in France and to pick it up on the day needed. So cake ordered and email recieved to say money was received. All good, until. On the day of the surprise meal my husband and I go to the store in Macon to pick up our ordered cake only to find that no ordered had been received so no cake!!!! Phone calls were made to different people but not once was there any talk about having something instead of ,or a refund, or even a sorry!!!! This all happened on the 8th July and i am still waiting for a refund as they couldn't possible refund in cash it has to be done into my bank but still nothing!!! .

We have been visiting the quiet and beautiful town of Cluny several times, and we are always paying a visit to this French patisserie with great pleasure. Open also on Sundays, their chocolate is really excellent and delicious. Their "Truffes du Moine" are superb, but also the "Rocher de Solutré" is really good. You will not regret having stopped here!

Had high hopes for this place, as I am a local. Wanted a nice tea-room and good sweets, plus some nice treats to offer friends and visitors. Sadly disappointed when first buying some sweets in the shop, and the cost was 35 euros for a few chocolates! Tried the tea room on a cold winter day and the waitress was very snippy and the cakes, which we had to go next door to select, were stale. The windows are beautiful, until you enter and see the sky-high Paris prices. Locals really don't go here much, as it is not welcoming. A place for tourists with lots to spend.

Just a look into the window will tell you all you need to know about what this place has to offer. We bought two tartes au framboise and they were wonderful. The cake shop has an arrangement with the cafe next door so you can enjoy your cake with a coffee and watch the passing strollers.

We enjoyed looking in the shop window at the beautifully ornate and expensive creations. We sat at the attached cafe and ordered hot drinks. It was a cold wet day. The waitresses appeared overstretched although the place was not full. We waited a long time and received drinks which were very disappointing and appeared to be not worth the charge for them.

There are pastries and hand made chocolates and toffies well displayed, and expensively priced on display. The staff are not overly motivated but seeing that its location is the main funnel past the abbey and the set up smells of tourist trap, either spoil yourself or go further along and have a coffee in the local bakery.

You almost pay for entering this shop. I bought 2 "fruits glacés" , a very small mandarin and an apricot, soaked and coated in sugar. I expected them to be expensive, but not nearly 4€ each. And they were so sugary that there was no fruit taste left. So beware - liitle treats can turn out o be expensive mistakes.

Great Chocolaterie in the centre of Cluny. Along side wonderful chocolates you can buy quiches/puddings all of very high quality. Oranges dipped in chocolate are a must!
