We spied this restaurant last time we visited Colmar so decided to try it out. We popped in at lunchtime to reserve a table on the terrace for that evening and it was good that we did as the terrace was fully reserved when we returned later. The menu was varied consisting of local recipes. The staff were very helpful with just the right of amount of attention given. The food was delicious. Our table was on the terrace at the rear of the restaurant with views of the river and the barques making their way up and down it. We really enjoyed our evening and will return.

Found this small French restruant in tiny village of Colmar,France. We found the staff to be very attentive and eager to help you with the menu. They had a special Quiche meal that day which was perfect for us.,salad and vegetables and quiche. Also have sandwiches, soups etc..Prices were average. The streets were charming and close to the German border.

July 14th, so busy, but somewhat understaffed. Sat outside and coped well with sudden downpour. Food mediocre, pork shoulder better than steaks. Asked for condiments and got given to the table next door who dutifully passed them on! Beautiful location, which is clearly the attraction rather than the food!

Situated near the canal and the pedestrian district, this was recommended by our hotel owner and we were delighted with the suggestion. The restaurant was very busy and we were lucky to get a table for two. Being our first night in Colmar, I had the choucroute with 5 meats, the best I had in the town, and my wife had a beautiful fresh salad (salade fitness), and the Riesling recommended by our waitress. Overall, we were delighted with the choice and the cost made it really good value. Definitely a place to visit and we will return.

We were eating just now and we both ordered meat. It was perfect! The fries and also the sauce! I ordered pepper sauce! I highly recommend it! We were at the terrace near the river. Beautiful! And the staff was really nice. I read some comments against them. I must say they were really polite with us!

I was there at night looking for a noisy place to eat something with my wife and turbulent 1 yrs old baby. We were very well treated there, we all ate delicious meat and people was very kind and comprehensive with my baby self-eating trials. Very recommended!!

We only ate at one place in Colmar - but, we couldn't have asked for a better choice than Le Comptoir de Georges. Staff were friendly and welcoming, as were our fellow diners at adjacent tables. We were there during summer - so sat outside overlooking La Lauch, one of the most picturesque spots in Le Petite Venise, flower boxes everywhere, and entertained by a resident coypu (nutria) swimming by looking for treats. The restaurant is connected to a large delicatessen - so, has an amazing selection of local and imported meats, cheeses, etc. at hand. The menu reflects this wide diversity. The three of us enjoyed tasty, hearty meals. and enjoyed the ambiance so much that we lingered for some time after - enjoying coffees and desserts. Le Comptoir de Georges is everything you want in a restaurant on a vacation: a perfect location, . . . . . enjoyable, filling meals, . . . . . professional, friendly hosts, . . . . . enjoying the company of other happy diners . . . . . . all making for good holiday experience.

Rather business styled restaurant (butchery during the day) in the heart of this very romantic city. If you are looking for a great steak you should certainly try the "côte de bœuf pour 2 personnes". A lovely piece of angus beef with French fries and steamed veggies .... what do you need more ? My 10 yo daughter certainly appreciated the for her much too big savoury cheese burger, served on a bed of salad and French fries. Also try the "Baeckeoffe", "Choucroute Colmarienne" and the other specialties of the Alsace region, TOP !
