Called in here for Breakfast and it was very good. Well supported even at 10-00 am We ordered from their large selelection for breakfast dishes and were not disappointed when our 2 poached eggs on 2 slices of toast, nicely presented arrived. I do not need Watercress on my poached eggs at that time in the morning..or any time for that matter! They were busy getting ready for valentines Day offers and Afternoon Tea seemed to be very popular so I was told, by the friendly chatty staff! Offering a good selection of usual dishes, nicely decorated room, light and very clean, good position before heading into St Ives. Good plant centre as well. Ample parking and disabled access from the car park ....
We always head to the restaurant at Wyevale in Lelant for the absolute best service. The food is always freshly prepared and a varied choice. I have to say the staff are all delightful and work hard. To be honest all the staff go way beyond best customer service and I would love to work there hey I’d even work for free. As many of the Wyevales are being taken over by Dobbies I hope this does not affect the great service and team spirit that is so evident there. I live 250 miles away otherwise I’d always be there. Still bought a water feature and lounger whilst there. I had the rainbow salad beautiful. Well done to all at Wyevale Lelant
We visited the restaurant specifically for afternoon tea around 2:45 and were disappointed to learn that only cheese or gluten-free scones were available. We expressed our disappointment and were told that we should have made a reservation. However, after sensing our growing frustration, we were offered two cakes instead of the scones at the same price. While not ideal, it was a solution that redeemed their reputation, which we accepted. In the end, we returned a few days later and enjoyed the standard afternoon tea offerings.
We eat here about once a month. Recently, we've had to wait longer than usual for ordered food to arrive. Today it was 47 minutes from ordering to arrival. They apologised, citing as reasons two being trained on the tills and new kitchen staff. But we suspect our order got lost, as several tables where people came in a good while after us got served, ate and left before our meals appeared. Let's hope it's a one-off... We had lunch at this restaurant and opted for egg mayonnaise sandwiches on whole wheat bloomer bread, tea, and the special deal of two scones with jam and cream. Surprisingly, we were not given a choice of scone and were served ginger scones. They were enjoyable, with a mild ginger taste, but they were a bit crumbly and I had to use a spoon to eat them. The sandwiches were generously filled and delicious.
I ordered the panini that was advertised on the board, but the lady taking orders insisted it had to be a toasted sandwich. I explained that I didn't want that, so she then said she could do the panini. However, when it arrived, it turned out to be a toasted sandwich and it wasn't very good. My mum ordered a jacket potato, but the skin was so burnt that it was inedible.
Visited Dobbies garden centre, we used the cafe for a quick snack lunch and were impressed by both the service and value for money. A very pleasant seating area, good and varied menu choice and a perfect start or end to a tour around the garden centre, the selection of plants was excellent. Make sure you apply for a Dobbies discount card!
