We will be returning.Enjoy this restaurant whilst it is on top form , trying for 2 stars.met the chef personally and thanked him.Great staff, and very knowledgable sommelier- do seek his advice on the local wines ofJura, of which there is a fantastic collection.Charming Hotel too which i recommend fully.lovely swimming pool for summer, lovely interior with fire for winter.
We really enjoyed the food at this excellent restaurant very much.From the amuses bouche till desert it was a real treat. The suggested wines that came with the different dishes were perfect as well.Staff was welcoming, friendly and professional.Because of the good weather we sat outside in a nice and quiet garden setting.We think you really get value for money here.
I have no idea how this restaurant received one star from Michelin. The food was not tasty and overpriced. The staff is very knowledgeable and attentive, but this is not enough. We were there for two hours and I do not know what we eat. The description on the menu is not what we got. We will not return.
We stayed at the hotel to break the journey between Piedmont and London and picked it specifically for the restaurant, a very good decision.A selection of amuse bouche was followed by fois gras and snail starters and then lobster and Bresse chicken. The puddings were superb and I never thought creme brulee would benefit from the addition of mushrooms.I was a little bemused by the menu which offers two, three or four course options but I hadn't realised that cheese and desserts weren't counted so I thought I'd ordered the four, but in fact had ordered the two. Having said that I'm not sure I could have eaten another as the food was very rich and filling. Service was excellent too.
La Chaumiere was recommended to us by the hotel we stayed in. We were not disapointed. We were there for lunch and choose the lunch menu. It was simply great and more than worth the money. There were two amuse bouche to start for example and also sweets with the coffee. We had a two course menu and ended up well fed. Our dog was also very welcome and we will go back in September, when we stay in the area again. The staff was very friendly and always there when needed.
