Servi par des gens ensoleillés par une journée ensoleillée. C'est un agréable restaurant en bord de plage proposant du poisson et des crustacés frais ainsi que les steaks habituels, etc. Oui, un lieu touristique - mais c'est ce que nous étions. Excellent service et, pour moi, un fish and chips décent. Et un plongeon (des orteils) dans la saumure plus tard.
Well-situated with great ocean views, this place could be so much more.Unfortunately it caters for tourists and we were sucked-in since it was pretty much the only place open on a very blustery grey day in Dunkirk.We tried to sit outside, but despite the windbreakers, the sand was still attacking us so we moved indoors where it was slightly too warm in the crowded conservatory-style front.Our waiter was busy and can only be described as curt.The fish and chips were acceptable. However, the special of pasta with scallops left a lot to be desired. The pasta was overcooked and the scallops were incredibly small. To add insult to injury, the scallops had been chopped in half to make them appear more numerous! I am convinced the accompanying sauce was from a jar. This was a dish I felt safe ordering on the beach in France but I was seriously mistaken.Overpriced, less than mediocre food.
We visited the seafront for a quick visit before heading to the ferry port and decided at just after two to have lunch but all the restaurants we visited said that the kitchens were closed and this restaurant was the only one that was still serving food. We had moules and they were excellent and the staff gave a really good service. Highly recommended.
We went here on Friday night. The service was impeccable, Matthew, our waiter was very friendly and attentive. I had the ribs which were massive, delicious and succulent, my dad had the sole which he also said was delicious, and my partner had the steak which had been cooked to perfection.All this great food was definitely enhanced by the great atmosphere and Matthew's friendly service.It's right on the sea front so you can eat outside with great views of the ocean,don't avoid it in the winter either as there are patio heaters on the terrace, and Matthew mentioned that they'll be various events going on.If you're in Dunkerque you should definitely eat here!
Nice place with a nice view. Food good quality (but not exactly corresponding to the description in the menu, for example, we could not find any Roquefort cheese in the beef plate). The waiter was very friendly, spoke English, but very absent-minded. He forgot one of the main dishes for one of us, but the mistake was corrected in 5 mins, so that is ok. Toilets are a mess, everything is broken and long ago. If not the friendliness of the waiter, I would never go back to this place.
