We were staying in Epone (at a Campanile hotel) mainly as a base for seeing Versailles and the gardens at Giverny. Seemingly Epone is not blessed with many restaurants. This one looks unpromising from outside, but do not be deceived. Inside is a very nice 'Trat' with friendly staff. There were lots of locals who knew each other and the staff, which is usually a good sign.It looked like you could book, although we hadn't and it was very full on our first visit and fairly full on the second (a Thursday and a Friday). The menu covers the usual pasta, pizza and escallopes, but done with care and attention. The rocket side salad was excellent. The profiteroles spot on. Not much English spoken but it was easy enough to get by. Good value too, with two courses and two drinks coming out around Euro40. Not open on Sunday or Monday evenings according to their web-site.
