You can't miss this small restaurant, it's next to the church. The two ladies serving tables were very efficient and charming. For the price the food is excellent, flavours of Provence. A sunny day, good food and wine, what else do you need? You have to book.

We reserved a table for four at L'ami Provencal at 1pm on a Thursday. Three of us enjoyed the succulent lamb dish, which was cooked for several hours and was very tender. It was accompanied by an outstanding carrot flan. The head chef informed us that the carrots used for the flan were grown in the salted sands of the Camargue, giving them a rich and complex flavour. One of us had the hamburger which was cooked to perfection and accompanied by a generous salad topped with home-made potato crisps. The composition of each plate was extremely thoughtful and successfully executed. We also chose to try the house red, and were quite impressed. Aside from the excellent food, the highlight of our visit was discussing the menu with the chef who took the time to answer each our questions with detail. Our server was also very friendly. One of us found the choice of music (American Pop/Top 40) unfortunate. As we each had a main course and 1/2 litre of wine, the bill came to approximately 23 euros per person, which is fair for the quality. At this time of year the restaurant is only open for lunch but will open for dinner as well in mid-June. We certainly eat at L'ami Provencal again, and will next time try their desserts!

We stopped in for the plate d'jour and also had the Cafe Gourmand for dessert. The lunch was sea bass and it was outstanding for 12E. My wife thought the dessert was the best one of those she has ever had. Couple this with a perfect location near a church plaza and it was a perfect French experience. The owner served and her boyfriend is the cook. The service was first class. Walk 50 yards from the market square and experience the real France.

If you go in winter get there at noon or 13h15 as tables are limited and fill up quick. The food is delicious. Fresh ingredients, copious, well presented and very tasty. The house wine is great. Service is extremely friendly Price for two was eur80 which is not exactly cheap but it was worth every cent. Top quality French cuisine ... we shall return.

Don't try to eat here Sunday without a reservation. But we had a delightful lunch our last day in Fontvielle -- a couple of salads and two burgers that were, surprisingly set in the middle of salads. Friends service, decent choices on the menu and a pleasant square make this a solid choice for lunch or dinner.

I have a home in Fontvieille - close to this restaurant - so have eaten here many times. The food is always delicious and they use really good, fresh ingredients. The chef, his partner who is front of house, and the others in the team are so friendly and welcoming. Try the chocolate souffle and all of the salads.

We stopped at this picturesque village square to enjoy a lunch. The salads are delicious as was the main course dish of the day we visited. Try their Cafe Gourmand...... a selection of mini desserts served with an espresso coffee, delicious! Service was prompt and friendly.

Young enthusiastic husband and wife team. Knowledgeable English speaking staff. Chef delivered food, explaining how he'd prepared it and bouncing with enthusiasm.
