After visiting the Citadele in Foncalquier our group started in search of lunch. Wow..........very close to the main block we checked out the daily specials at Le Station and the result was excellent. The full special at 17€ included a very yummy salad, unlimited fresh bread, lemon roasted chicken on a bed of pasta, chocolate mouse (to die for), cafe and wine. Best meal since we arrived in France a week ago. Highly recommend.
Located just off the main square in the centre of town, the restaurant looks pretty unassuming from the outside. However the friendly service and excellent food on offer made our visit a really enjoyable one. My partner's request for vegetarian food was handled most helpfully (not always the case in French restaurants!) and we enjoyed the fact that locals and visitors mingled happily together. We sat outside on the patio area in the September sunshine but the cosy indoor area also looked very inviting. Would happily return.
C'était peut-être moi, mais ça aurait pu être le chef du jour. ma femme et moi sommes arrivés à une mer de tables à la fin du service du déjeuner, chargées des restes de nombreux déjeuners. apparemment il y en a un gros. cela suit pour ce restaurant, mais je ne comprends vraiment pas pourquoi. J'ai eu une des deux assiettes du jour, un ragoût d'agneau avec du kartoffeln gratiné ; complètement insipide. ma femme avait le gaspacho qu'elle aimait. un tiramisu a égayé mon humeur.
nous nous sommes arrêtés ici pour trouver un endroit ombragé après une promenade au marché. à l'origine, nous ne prenions qu'un verre, mais nous avons vu comment la nourriture arrivait sur d'autres tables et avons décidé de manger ici aussi. J'ai été totalement déçu par la nourriture. en Provence pendant mon séjour, et ce fut une bonne surprise de la vraie cuisine française de standards auxquels je suis habitué en France ! nous avons pris le menu à 22 €, vin et café compris et n'avons pas été déçus. un membre de notre groupe a eu le risotto qu'elle a également apprécié et un autre a eu le plat du jour qui était un entenmaigret
