A lovely restaurant by the river specialising in trout. Phone to reserve a table outside on the terrace. The trout was superb. Service a bit slow but delightful lunch.

Lunch was just perfect. We sat outside. Views were very quaint, an Alsace fantasy, along the river ill. The foe grois was homemade and one of my favorites. The grisole and Escargot fricasse was rich and delicious. The fish and chips from the local fish was real local treat, I don't think we will ever find anywhere else.

Best restaurant for Trout in the region, in a charming location on the banks of the river Ill. Beautiful outdoor terrace and pleasant country restaurant inside. We have had Truite throughout France and Germany and this restaurant serves only the freshest trout, from the tank to your plate. We will be there again in September.

This is a casual restaurant and in summer it's fun to sit outside on the patio overlooking the L'Ill river. But smokers sit outside too and that can be a problem. The food is very bright and simple and reasonably priced.

as the name suggests, this is place for eating trout. they have some basins behind the house where they keep the live fish. it's right by the water, which is nice, and the nearby street wasn't really noisy. the place was pretty packed on a sunday lunch. service was a bit slow, but ok. their local brand of beer tasted a bit like water, so I'm not coming back for that. the food was quite alright. the trout was very good, as you would expect. local ham was cut very thick, which we didn't appreciate. but good asparagus. overall not too bad, nothing special, but not too bad.

We are true customers of "À la Truite" in the festive season, where you will feel at home when being served by the friendly staff. Make sure you'll book ahead during the weekends; La Truite is a favorite eating spot for locals. Christmas decorations are bustling, and so many that you'll have difficulties to spot the highly reputed neighbour restaurant across the Ill river. Compared to our 2012 visit, La Truite had improved it's menu, that now features - next to what you may order - also an overview where you may buy the local delicatessen. Locally farmed trout is a good value; we prefer the bleu (blue; prepared as is) version over the one with almonds that, in our case, had been done a bit too well in the oven. The best value for wines are the ones from the region (Alsace); from elsewhere in France, they're quite expensive. A tip for the festive season is to take a tray of "foie gras" (goose liver) home with you - a very tasty surprise!

Decent food -- the duck and trout were actually very tasty (we shared) in an attractive venue, but certainly not of gourmet quality. Perfectly acceptable, except for the cheese plate, whuch was of supermarket quallity.

We enjoyed this family run restaurant two nights in a row. The son is the chef , and Mom is front of house. The beef carpaccio was excellent! The service was easy and attentive. Make a reservation, they are small and get busy.
