You stay in a small hotel and it advertises their restaurant... ok... and then you see the menu and think it is kind of ambitious. Then comes the good and you are blown away. It was amazing good and the pictures have sadly no smell option. My veal was perfect with amazing sauces to pair and the soufflé ... omg. This place is probably not only good for hotel guests but worth going if you are into food and love a good country setting French style with absolutely in pretentious setting. No overly fancy decorations (yes fair... the desert was set fancy), easy going unstuffy staff. We loved it.
We were looking forward to our dinner here after a long driving journey. Unfortunately the restaurant was packed and there were two events going on at the same time (wedding and birthday). We stayed at the table for, literally, 2 hours and 20 minutes with our 3 kids until we finished. Anything we asked for was too slow, even a bottle of water took them 20 min to be served....not a good experience. The food was decent but not enough to compensate the bad experience after all...as a dessert, the crepes for the kids were cold, and the bill didn’t help either!.
In fact we have chosen this hotel and restaurant with the Michelin guide and not TA. Very nice diner we took the menu at 49€ everything was perfect, nicely presented and very tasty. Service was good, the wine list was not fantastic but with a good variety especially with wine from the Loire area, very peaceful atmosphere. The rooms were ok nothing special but large and with all the amenities you expect from a 4 stars hotel Will go back for sure if I am in the area!
The scenery and surroundings are typical from the Sologne area. The menu is very original. Food is well presented. Our American friends were a bit intimidated by the uniqueness of some dishes on the menu which made it difficult for them to chose. Deserts are very unique too and worth saving room... Overall one of the most expensive restaurant in the area more for special occasions.
