A nice country inn, with good food and nice rooms. The bathrooms are newly remodeled and quite nice, with a shower. A simple addition would improve their performance: put soap in the bathroom! They included a small body wash/ shampoo packet, enough for 1 shower, but no hand soap for the sink! It's always the little things that count.
after a long break we returned to the gimbelhof again and had great luck to get a table without reservation. in contrast to a series of reviews was friendly and fast despite full house of service. the kitchen has been authentic, plentiful and good for a long time. we were very happy to enjoy this beautiful place again.
we were two consecutive nights here. the gimbelhof has cult character so he was described to us. from nothweiler we hiked on the first night to two with dog there and on the second evening we met with friends another time. the service friendly, fast and uncomplicated. the kitchen typical for the floor-to-ceiling Alsace. whether froze, lamb fillets, lachstranchen, everything was delicious, simply dressed, kept warm on Rechaud plates. the Alsace good wines, here especially the auxerois, tasted good. cult' meets. if we should be in the region again, we will be happy to come back.
