La Paika Réserver une table

Nous avons téléphoné une semaine à l'avance pour réserver une table pour déjeuner ici. A notre arrivée, on nous a dit que malgré notre réservation, ils n'avaient que des transats sur la neige. Nous n'avons visiblement pas eu l'air très impressionnés lorsqu'ils nous ont trouvé une table, mais... seulement pendant 1 h 15 jusqu'à l'arrivée des prochaines personnes. Cela aurait été bien si le service n'avait pas été lent… la viande était trop cuite mais assez savoureuse. Nous avons ensuite été littéralement chassés du restaurant, le maître d'hôtel me suggérant de prendre mon café et de le boire « sur la neige »… quand nous sommes partis, il y avait au moins 20 personnes qui attendaient de s'asseoir, qui avaient toutes également réservé. En bref, la nourriture était assez bonne si elle était trop cuite, mais ils avaient clairement réservé beaucoup trop de monde pour le nombre de tables dont ils disposaient. Cela a rendu tout cela une expérience assez désagréable !

We had a great meal for lunch. I would recommend the bbq otherwise you have to wait for service from the main kitchen which tends to be slower. The food was great and, being able to sit outside was lovely.

Booked for lunch here and we were not disappointed. The service was friendly and fast and the food was superb !! The Cotes de Boeuf portion was huge - enough for 3/4 people .......We practically rolled down the piste after all our food......but it was worth it !!

Une dernière pause avant de retourner à l'appartement !! Cadre super sympa ! Prix raisonnable pour un bar sur les pistes.

Déjà la 2ème année que nous venons à la Païka et c'est toujours un plaisir de pouvoir y déguster le plat du jour, les grillades et des délicieux desserts. Le chalet est très cosi et le personnel est très accueillant. Avec un remerciement particulier pour Marie qui a toujours su nous accueillir avec le sourire et bravo pour son professionnalisme. Victime de son succès pensez à réserver si vous ne voulez pas être déçu de trouver le restaurant complet. Bref foncez vous ne serez pas déçu !

La Païka is not located at the heart of the Les Gets ski area, so you'll have to go out of your way to get there. But once you've made the trip you won't be disappointed. We stopped for lunch on two occasions during our skiing trip and it was wonderful as always.Most of the staff are very friendly and the owner regularly chips in on busy days. Be sure to order some of the specialties from the big grill on the terrace. And finish things off with a nice café while getting a tan in one of the deck chairs.

This is an excellent place for a "real" lunch - sunny terrace with beautiful views on a really quiet piste. We knew we would need to book so we popped in for a quick coffee earlier in the morning. Drinks are taken in the deckchair area , and you go to the bar for service. This is quite usual for a restaurant. Inside is cosy, but on a sunny day only the terrace is open. Some of the tables are set directly on the snow, which may feel chilly if the sun isn't strong. The menu is diverse, but it is worth having the meat dishes just to see the huge lumps get thrown onto the outdoor grill and arrive shortly afterwards cooked to perfection and ready to carve. Usual fries as side dish, and an attractive salad. Specials have lovely vegetables as well. Desserts are way too tempting, and the dessert buffet is fabulous. Portions are huge and could easily be shared. The staff were working flat out but there were enough for the size of the restaurant, and they were still smiling. Expect to pay restaurant prices, but you will get excellent restaurant food. If you opt for a late lunch you can linger at the table with a coffee whilst deciding whether to ski it all off, having enjoyed the emptier slopes/lifts while the rest of the resort eats.

I vowed never to visit this place again after last year but called in for a drink by accident. There aren't many bars on this part of the mountain so I just followed a friend to get a beer. It soon became very clear where we had landed as we were greeted by one of the staff telling us to get our own beer from inside and not to sit at a table. It was very early and nobody had arrived for lunch yet. The true customer service was followed up at bar by being ignored. Admittedly the food and barbeque looks excellent outside but this is the most stuck up restaurant on the mountain. I only hope a new place opens up nearby with good customer service as these guys would be in for a serious shock with some local competition.
