Food was good but service was TERRIBLE. They purposely served us after several tables who had come in later. Our 3-course meal took 3 hours. And then they charged the 2 of us for 3 prix fixe menus & charged us for 2 bottles of Pouilly Fuissé, instead of the 1 we ordered & drank.

Really quirky place with so much to excite and talk about! Great menus and the food was really delicious. My dad and I had foi gras for a starter - gorgeous. My mum and husband samosas. Then we had a steak with pepper sauce and roasted potatoes. My mum had a trio of fish kebab and my husband lasagne. All was delicious, we were unlucky with the weather but I bet on a dry day it would have stunning views. There is also a car park right in front. Great place, go you'll love it.

This place is very quirky and the food and service is great. Fun atmosphere and lively with great music. Watch out for a few well worn seats that you may find uncomfortable, but otherwise well worth a visit.

Spent a convivial evening enjoying an excellent meal and good wine in interesting surroundings.Five of us ate, all our food was perfectly cooked and the quality of ingredients was fantastic. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend, have eaten there half a dozen times in the last couple of years and have never been disappointed.

We keep our boat on the pontoon nearest Le Cargo and so are infrequent regulars. After the summer away we returned yesterday with some friends and we really pleased with the food and ambiance. The service was brilliant and we really enjoyed the live music.Well done Marc!

visited twice once late morning for a simple drink sat outside on sofa's over looking the marina so relaxed so enjoyable. Returned for lunch on a Sunday such a nice menu great choices & very well cooked and superb presentation. outdoor seating is great for the atmosphere & the basket of blankets a great addition if the breeze is a little strong or chilly. Decoration inside is quirky and fun.

My wife and I called for coffee one Saturday at about 3pm and the place was still buzzing from lunch. We were surprised by the amazing art work, the scruffy but clean interior, excellent blues music on a good sound system and people clearly having a great time. It was just fascinating. So we thought we needed to give it a whirl. Today it was even better than we expected. By 12.30 the tables were all taken and the food was flying out of the kitchen. As well as the Menu du Jour their was a big A la carte menu. We went for the Menu du Jour but still had 3 choices per course. All were excellent and well presented. A word of warning however, don't go if you are in a hurry. We were there for 2.5 hours but that's nothing unusual with so many people in a French resteraunt that only has two staff running the bar and serving at the same time. Another word of warning, you will need basic resteraunt French, we were the only non locals in there. So, three courses, wine and coffee for two, €50(£40). We plan on going back to try some more of the menu.

We have been to the Cargo several times a year for the past 6 or 7 years. At first the food was amazing, then it went down hill for a while. Being an idiosyncratic place, it suffered from the smoking ban but the rest of us cheered! The new owner Mark took a year or so to find his feet, but has now found a good chef. The food has improved immeasurably and the atmosphere is excellent. It is a "must visit" place for sailors on this coast. Highly recommended.Neil Eccles
