I was given a recommendation by a sommelier friend in London to visit and my lunch didnt disappoint, 7 plump stuffed sardines, served with roasted vegetables and bread, and a glass of crisp white wine. It was quite early in the service but I managed to grab one of the last seats (and servings of sardines!). The location is roadside rather waterside, but the ambience and decor more than makes up. Recommended!!

Great decor, atmosphere, staff and food. A friendly place with delicious local produce. A must if you want to eat fish!

The place is small with passionate owner. Takes a while get the food, but it's worth the wait. Really fresh sea food, with great taste. Note only serves fish dishes, and is only open during lunch times 12-15.

I discovered Marseille for the 1st time last weekend and this was my top favourite meal! It was simply incredible, makes me drool just thinking about it! I went with my 4-year old son and we enjoyed some crevettes for starters and then some langoustines, which could've have been enough for a light meal as the dishes are quite dear so I could've been reasonable... But then... my "neighbour" at our table was savouring her garlicky "couteaux" and they were so very tempting... so I greedily ordered a plate for myself and goodness, they were exquisite!! this was hands-down one of the best meals I've ever had. The 3 dishes came to just under 50 euros which is quite high but I'd much rather splash out on such an experience every how and again, rather than eat out somewhere average more often! This. Was. Fab!

La Boite serves lunch 5 days a week and dinner once. Run by a group of friends, they serve amazing seafood. Much of it very simple, fresh and delicious. The preparations are novel enough to be interesting without getting weird. One of the best lunches we have had in a long time! Call ahead for reservations.

Everyone should be lucky enough to walk into a restaurant this great. I learned to put fresh ground pepper on briny oysters here. Thank you!

The best place for a lovely french seafood dinner. The staff's chilled out and cool, the place has a great view and most importantly the food is delicious- it's been almost a year since we were in Marseille but I still remember the meals as if it was yesterday! Highly recommend!

Lovely simple seafood restaurant. Super friendly staff. No set menu as it changes to what is in season. Get there when it opens or be prepared to wait. Worth the short walk if staying in the port.
