I don't expect all that much from a menu-du-jour place in rural SW France, but I do expect a bit more cheer and a bit more generosity than this. Mostly at least when they bring the soup it's in a big tureen and you can have more than one helping if you want to; here it's just brought to the table in a modest bowl and that's your lot. And the wine is extra. The salad was good. Everything else rather ho-hum, with awful decor and a joyless atmosphere. Everyone sitting in silent solemnity, or struggling for a whispered conversation. And hopeless for vegetarians if they actually take an interest in food. I know I'm being a bit jaundiced about this, but other reviews seem excessively kind to the place, and I certainly couldn't recommend it to anyone I know. Its main virtue seems to be that it's open more often than most such restaurants in the region.
