La Cantine is in a quiet little square in the heart of the village and has a pretty terrace and cozy interior. The service is very friendly, overseen by the owners who are passionate about local, seasonal produce. This shows in the varied and delicious menu - we were spoilt for choice. One of the best restaurants in Megève, perfect for a relaxed drinks and dinner.
The decor outside is what lured me to this place to read the menu and food specials. Once you get talking to the owners, one can be disappointed by the food nor atmosphere of this restaurant. I shared the dishes with my friend so we could have a taste of all that tickled our fancy; omelette with season mushrooms with a side salad, foie gras with toast. The onion "chutney" was delicious! We followed this with the snails in homemade butter and topped that up with the ham and tome hot sandwich. This was all nicely accompanied with a glass of local white wine. A coffee to settle it all with the home made biscuits. Definitely worth a stop while you're in Megève as the owners ensure that the produce they use is local and fresh all this served with a pleasant atmosphere!
