We stopped here during a cruise on the canal, we had a dinner outside (my family of 4 and 2 dogs). Service was quick and kind, good and abundant dishes at the right price. You HAVE to try their Tarte Flambée. I had the Paysanne and my son the Gratinée. Both really fantastic!

Me and my husband visited this restaurant on the evening of our arrival (we've rented a house in the village Waltenheim-sur-Zorn). We were served by a very friendly lady who also happened to speak German and the food was delicious. We ate a salmon appetizer and then ordered two Flammkuchen, which were the best I ate so far (and we have them on virtually every street corner in Germany). Prices are okay if you consider France is not the cheapest country in Europe (around 10€ for each Flammkuchen, I think we spent about 50€ including the appetizer, beer/glass of wine and tip), but considering the delicious food and the impeccable service, it was definitely worth it! Bonus: The owner builds miniature versions of the traditional German houses, they are all displayed in the dining room, including a version of the restaurant itself.

We visited this restaurant during our boat trip on the Canal de la Marne au Rhin. The restaurant is located in Waltenheim-sur-Zorn in the Aslace region. It is located on next to the Canal de la Marne au Rhin about 100 yards from a boat tie-up. We only stopped in for a beer (and ice cream for my daughter), but the owner was very friendly and spoke good English. She told us that she loves to visit the U.S. We wished that we had time for dinner so that we could visit with her longer.[Note - the TripAdvisor database has the correct street address and postal code for the restaurant, but the city is incorrect. The city is Waltenheim-sur-Zorn, not Paris.]

We were on a La Boat Houseboat on the canal and had left Hochenfelden from a tour of the Meteor Brewery and stopped to spend the night at the nice dock in Walterheim before the next lock cruising to Stasbourg. We found Restaurant A l'ancre 1 block from our boat. We had delicious Pizza,Calzone,Flammbees and schnitzel and potatoes. If you are in the area, this is a must restaurant and stop over. They open about 7pm like most restaurants did on this trip. The building and the staff were excellent. Look for the Hanzel and Gretel paintings on the building across the street.

Dined here tonight, very large portions, we had the Cordon Bleu with local cheese and a mushroom sauce, also a large pizza, food was tasty and as mentioned large serving, drinks and food at a reasonable price as well, cosy inside, would have liked outside but all tables were booked, last stop before Straussburg on the canal boat so worth the effort, friendly helpful maitre de,
