Had a few glasses of wine at this excellent place with an even better terrace, a little sunken compared to the road level but with shady and sunny places, just what you are in the mood for. It is also nice and quiet, the noise level is medium to low, just what I like to have a good time. The service was not very quick but that is what I like if I have a few before dinner drinks. The wine list is nice, there are also some nice biological local wines.
We passed this restaurant around lunch time just after arrival in Munster - on our way to the tourist information center to get more information on the area. The restaurant looked busy and we gave it a try. Both the galette as the small salad with scallops were really nice.
We were just cruising around Alsace and stopped in Munster. We saw about 20 bicyclists at this restaurant and after looking at the menu, knew that we had to try it for lunch, especially if there were that many bicyclists there! I had a ham, cheese and tomato galette and it was very good and more than enough for lunch! My husband had a "small" salad that came with some bread covered with melted cheese and bacon. All the other food that was coming out looked amazing and quantities were more than ample. With 2 beers the tab was just under 20€ and a lot less than usual for the quality and quantity of the food compare to what we had the previous day for lunch in another town. The wait staff did a terrific job even with the outside terrace packed. Watching the storks in the nearby nests made for a relaxing afternoon.
We had a lovely lunch here - friendly staff and great food. I had the small duck salad and husband had the cheese and ham platter, served with a selection of breads - including a delicious walnut one. It was presented beautifully and the bill only came to 24 euros including 3 beers - so was great value. We sat outside in the sun and it was a great treat.
