Enjoyed a pleasant meal here. Food was well cooked and nicely presented. The service was busy (hence slow) but that seems to go with the style of the place: enjoy a leisurely meal at a pace slightly slower then your digestive system. There is a "menu of the day" which is mid-ranged priced, served quicker than the menu, not too complicated and very good. I can recommend the house wines - don't spend time on the wine card, just ask the head waiter what house wine to drink with what. The atmosphere and deco is old-world but comfortable and, it would seem, the place is often busy: you may want to reserve.Although I enjoyed my meal (and company) I felt that the service was thin on the ground, either someone was missing from the service team or they were saving on costs. My side of noodles and our wine was placed on a side table behind me and no one appeared at the right moment to serve it. A case of "self service" apparently.

Had an excellent Sunday lunch here; waited quite some time to order with no offer of an aperitif. We then waited ages for food to appear but it was a nice surprise to be brought an amuse Bouche after about half an hour! After another half hour our main courses arrived.....superb food. My husband had duck breast, a very large portion beautifully presented with ( unusually for France) a selection of vegetables. Noodles were good and generous. I had Cordon Bleu with a delicious mushroom sauce served separately and it was delicious and also served with vegetables and excellent chips. We would have liked a dessert and coffee but after yet another very long wait we decided to just pay the bill. The strange part of the experience was that at no time did the waiter or waitress make eye contact with us, yet service was not unfriendly. We noticed that service for everyone was slow but it was fair. Clearly everyone was served in turn and food was cooked to order. This was Sunday lunch and groups were in, the restaurant was full so maybe during the week service is a little less leisurely. If you have the time I would certainly recommend eating here.

We came here twice as we didn'#t book for Saturday night, a stupid mistake. We wnjoyed our meals both times, but were disppointed that the waiters didn't recognise us from the day before, especially as we had chatted with them. Not a major goran but we have experineced a 90 year old lady of the house going round every table and greeting old customers as well as the pizzeria we usally stop off at on our way down through Italy recognising us fom year to year, so expected too much.

After three days of feasting in Strasbourg traditions, I was glad to have the chance to taste some contemporary dishes. An excellent selection of meat, fish and a fine wine list. Pleasant evening on the terrace overlooking the city center .
