We arrived early for lunch on Friday and even so the restaurant did not fill up. We sat outside in the sunshine under the awning and our dog was welcomed too - she was given a bowl of water. There were four of us and we all ordered different dishes so we could taste each other's and spent our time there exclaiming over the quality of what seemed to be entirely local produce. If you drive past and think that it looks like nothing more than a warehouse, stop! Go in, even if only for a coffee, and enjoy an amazing dining experience for a fraction of UK fine dining prices.
The restaurant is located beside a gym in a modern building on the outskirts of town, but inside has been converted (almost Disney style) into a terrace restaurant in a Mediterranean village. Very pleasant.The menu is varied, including steak and chips, but also a lot of traditional French dishes too. Prices are reasonable.The main thing is that all the food seems to be prepared on the premises from first principles. I had a burger with a basil-infused green brioche bun, coloured to look like a mushroom. Very creative. The chips were also hand-made.We will definitely be back!
Staff are exxy. Recent change of menu includes "Hot Dog Correzien" (which includes Andouillette for the locals who simply love it!). Standard Menu options cover most bases. Extra chalkboard options double your choices and create interest. Now well publicised that they source ingredients as locally as possible. Which is perfect?!Good prices. Great ethos. Worth visiting for that reason alone!Yet I simply cannot dismiss the location. Sorry. Trying so hard to be unique! Gig night every Thursday with all-in menu included. That MUST be applauded cos it is so refreshing round here!Truly want to score it higher but can't. Location, location, location. p.s. they need to employ a web designer? Take a look at their website and you'll understand.
Food is okay & at the right price. Well presented ordinary grub with bonuses seems to be their raison d'etre.If you go inside the warehouse (that is what it looks like from the main road outside) you'll find a completely false interior made to look like any village in Correze. However they do provide entertainment to accompany your meal several times each week - which is good no matter what that entertainment is!?Owner is trying hard to be different. That is good. Make your own mind up! Marmite is the best description. Some will love it. Some will hate it. Not many will be in the middle. Give it a whirl! You won't go bankrupt by exploring this place and YOU WILL HAVE an opinion to pass on to others. Frankly? This place is very popular with many who live here. They do not serve Fois Gras nor Andouillette. So it truly is different to the norm. And many will love it because of that. :-)
The food is excellent and lovely, friendly staff there too, I have been for lunch and dinner and both were equally good. highly recommended and just what the area needs, I am a resident here but for visitors please give this place a try, (they even have english menu's) it may not be in the prettiest location but if you are a true foodie, its the best Objat can offer and good value too!
We had a family meal with my inlaws there. This was one of my first times in France and this region. Service was excellent, friendly and fast. There are plenty of tasty choices in menu and it is very good value of money. In fact it was so good that we went to have a second meal during our holiday..... Can't wait to go back again!
