l'un des rares restaurants ouverts et recommandés par l'hôtel, nous venons d'arriver. à déguster en extérieur, avec notre premier avant-goût de cette délicieuse écorce de salers. mon tiramisu était énorme, mais tellement savoureux que je l'ai mangé. le damier est très. populaire et trop passé une autre nuit, tout le restaurant, à l'intérieur et à l'extérieur, était absolument bondé, de sorte qu'il est éventuellement nécessaire de réserver.
c'est un endroit très prisé du centre ville d'aurillac. Vous pouvez réserver ou boire au bar jusqu'à ce qu'une table soit libre. le plat du jour est toujours d'un bon rapport qualité/prix. le menu est un peu plus élevé que la plupart des restaurants de la ville, donc le restaurant est populaire, surtout à midi. le personnel est très sympathique et efficace. il est possible de manger sur la véranda (avec des fumeurs) également en automne, grâce à ces grands lampadaires chauffants au gaz.
we were in the best western and when they had only offered a meal in our room, we went out. le damier is located directly opposite the hotel entrance. nice atmosphere, good menu choice, good choice of weeping etc. steak was a bit on the expensive side, but tasty. and the crepes. the crepes. the personal is beautiful. there is a lot of meal to choose.
great location opposite the park. the menu concentrates mainly on meat. whether tartaric acid or grilled steaks. the wine list includes bordeaux wines quite good and not too expensive. glassware not so good. we arrived at 17.00 and asked if we could have a drink while we wait. for food service, we waited and waited for the service and waited for our order of pre-dinner drinks to arrive. After the finish we had to ask 3 times for the red bottle to be brought to the table at the beginning of the evening. the meals of gizieres salat and steaks for the main course were average. the personal was not really worried for the clientele and certainly do not want to make eye contact. there must be a better place to eat in aurillac.
I had dinner here with friends and have to say I was very disappointed. The industrial looking apple pie was straight out of the freezer, with a taste of cardboard. It was seriously expensive for what it was. Obviously the place being a brasserie I...wasn 't expecting great gastronomy but everything here is seriously over-priced and I had the impression of being in a place where profit rules and not quality. The place seemed very popular and seemed to be the 'place to be ' for the local sheeple. I really wonder why?
I went on recommendation of my hotel, they advised me to book; this turned out to be sound counsel as Le Damier was full and turning potential clients away by 2030! It 's an unpretentious little bistro in the centre of town. A limited menu, I...went for the daily 'specials ' of crevette salad, sirloin steak with alicot (a sort of creamy mash with cheese) and strawberry tart. All were delicious and served by a young waiter who was very helpful and courteous. Fine dining in a romantic setting it isn 't, but it is a good place to eat in a relaxed atmosphere.
