We stopped for lunch here and are so pleased that we did. This restaurant should almost have a Michelin star. It is very pretty inside with a nice courtyard outside. The welcome was very warm and the service excellent. The food was sublime- we started with the house special which was a superb dish of langoustines; then my husband had the hare while I had the hake. Both were excellent. The choices for the cheese course were extensive and we were delighted to find Isle flottante on the menu for dessert. A wonderful lunch and we would definitely recommend it.
Didn't eat here but stopped off for some drinks on a hot afternoon. Place was empty but looked very well designed in side and with an outside dining area. We had two small beers and two soft drinks for the kids. €22 euros! Think the owner was trying to make up for the lack of trade that day. The next place we visited we paid €6 for the same round. Wouldn't go back!
we were with 5, the amuses were good and promising .we had to ask for bread but started with good champagne and home smoked salmon. then good meat with to little sauce, which was a pitty, because it was delicious. they should serve the sauce in a bowl, so you can decide yourself how much you want. the vegetables were poor, none only potato but that is common in france this with a nice red wine from the region and the sorbet was good too, al together good food for a nice price
My wife and I ate at Restaurant Le Lion d'Or in Pierrefitte sur Sauldre--we were driving to Paris and stopped at the small town on our way. It surprised us that we found such a high quality restaurant in such a small place. The setting was superb, the service excellent and the food outstanding. The hostess, Josiane, was very friendly and helpful in making suggestions. Although she speaks limited English, her warmth and obvious love of owning a restaurant conquered all communication difficulties (on both sides). Strongly recommended.
