We choose this restaurant after seeing the carte walking around town in the afternoon. Seating was in a charming courtyard. We split white asparagus for our entree. For mains my wife had salmon and I ordered braised lamb shoulder. The salmon was perfect, I found my lamb a little dry. Both were accompanied by 5 different vegetables, including wild asparagus. We shared a dessert of different chocolates. All this with a 1/2 bottle of wine for 60 Euros. Great value.

Over the years I have had literally hundreds of meals in France, all bar one have been good to excellent. This was one of a handful that were exceptional. From the outside nothing marks out this restaurant from the dozens of others we looked at but having spotted the courtyard, and it being within 50 yards of the Ibis we were staying in, we chose this as much by luck as judgement. The food was outstanding. The foie gras starter and the Grand Marnier soufflé dessert in particular were amazing. The courtyard was secluded and had a great atmosphere. The service was friendly and efficient. Poitiers just happened to be the right distance for an overnight stop on our way to the Dordogne, this restaurant will make me select future routes to come back here.

We, and our friends, have dined at several French restaurants each year for the past 30 years and they have invariably been good to excellent, occasionally memorable, so we were stunned to have one of the best meals we have ever eaten in France, or anywhere, at this unassuming little restaurant. From the outside the restaurant looks distictly unpromising and we actually tossed a coin to decide whether to give it a try (thankfully it came up tails!) We ate in the delightfully secluded courtyard and the food, service, ambience were all pretty much perfect. I had razor clams which were a rare treat (although I was casting envious glances at my friend's fois gras) followed by the best veal sweetbreads I have ever had, finishing with a wonderfully boozy souffle. The cost of the meal seemed no better, no worse, than other restaurants we tried that week but given the quality of the food and the experience as a whole this was top value for money. If in Poitiers do not be offput by the shabby exterior and give it a try!

We have made a special trip here about 4 times over the last 7/8 years and our recent visit on 9/9/2016 didn't disappoint us. The staff were very attentive and as we now have a 4 yr old son he was also looked after. The food was delicious, a great menu to choose and the courtyard setting still has the same attractive look and feel. Thanks for a lovely evening!

Courtyard tables. Quite laid back atmosphere but still high quality. Not a tourist trap. Good but not special.

It's six months since I gave this restaurant a good rating. This is to confirm that it's still my favourite and I recommend you to go there if you can. You'll receive a warm, professional welcome and be treated well throughout the evening. Tonight I had the great value for money €29 menu and was over the moon! See you there tomorrow, perhaps?

Went there with friends tonight and really enjoyed it! Friendly waiters, delicious fish soup amuse bouche with complimentary (lovely) bread! The starter was the best (scallops,) very surprising dessert - Grand Marnier soufflé - and complimentary bottle of rhum with the Baba dessert! The wine is excellent too. I didn't put 5 stars as I did not enjoy the main course that much. Amazing place, would definitely go again and recommend.

My husband and I celebrated our wedding here with family. The staff were professional, accommodating, super helpful throughout the process of planning the evening, for which we'd arranged to secure the private room in the back of the restaurant. The night of couldn't have been better. The staff were attentive and helpful, and the service was excellent up until the very end when we finally left left very late at night. The food was absolutely superb! Everyone loved it and still can't stop talking about how great the meal was. We couldn't have chosen a better place to have our wedding dinner, and this has made the entire day even more memorable for us.
