We have eaten in this restaurant a number of times before and previously I have had very happy experiences. Lunchtime today was very different. There seemed to be a shortage of staff. The surrounding gardens are beautiful so waiting for our order to be taken was not a problem. Eventually our orders were taken. Starters arrived, the mozzarella and salmon was almost impossible to find on the plate. The main meal of duck was dry and the potato even drier. We asked for bread and again asked for bread which eventually arrived after we had finished the course. The dessert tatin was poorly presented and looked as if it had been quickly put on the plate. The coffee was lovely At no stage was there any apology for very slow service. The waiter seemed to have too many tables to serve. This was a special occasion, it turned out to be a disappointing experience. The table had been booked so we were expected.
I did like many others check TripAdvisor for a restaurant and this was close and top of the list. I went for the set menu it was delicious I can see why the hospitality and food have gained the reviews if you like Asian food and in the area then this is the place to come.
