Prigonrieux does not have many attractions, but if you drive through, make a stop at Le Batelier. The food is above average, the staff is smiling and knowledgeable and prices are very reasonable.

this restaurant was found on a bike tour of bergerac. first day we stopped and had a drink, but the terrace so much we thought we had to eat here. After we came back today, we had a nice authentic lunch with beautiful homemade paper and good wine. a really friendly owner and worth a stop when they are close.

we were no longer back to this restaurant because of covid. we were very disappointed at the restaurants we visited for a lunch. but we went back to le batelier and found it as good as. when we were there last, what pre covid was. the patron works alone and manages to deliver a very good “plat du jour”. all fresh meals and freshly cooked. we would recommend this restaurant (not to be deceived by occurring) and I am sure that they will enjoy it as much as we will.

We happened across this restaurant after a morning's wine tasting. Whilst it didn't look particularly impressive from the roadside there is a shady courtyard out the back, which we found very comfortable on a hot day, as did our Labrador. The owner was very helpful...and friendly and suggested a couple of specials. We had shrimp salad grilled large prawns with smoked salmon and melon; and pork fillet with mushroom sauce and sauted new potatoes. A carafe of white wine, a coffee to follow, and all for €42. We would thoroughly recommend this restaurant for a leisurely, tasty and relaxing lunch. P.S. The owner was very kind to our dog.

We visited this restaurant and were very glad we did. The outside of the building is unassuming and there were roadworks right outside but we made our way in and were pleasantly surprised. The owner is very welcoming and friendly. The food is simple but...very tasty and definitely good value for money. We would definitely recommend this restaurant.

At a loss for somewhere to eat and feeling that we were running out of time due to the 'kitchen is closed ' situation one often encounters in this part of the world, we happened upon Le Batelier. Having previously run a large hotel kitchen, the...owner is both relaxed and accommodating. So, if you are stuck for somewhere to eat around 2pm, this is a great place to go. We had a lovely salad and then fish, with coffee for two, for €45. The shaded area in the courtyard is very relaxing on a hot summer 's day. Do not let appearances deceive you, this is a well-run and charming little place. We often find ourselves hankering for simple fare after a barrage of heavily sauced local dishes at much larger and supposedly 'better ' restaurants, so it was an unexpected delight to find such an unpretentious place with simple, tasty food and such a welcoming host! Bravo.
