We had dinner here at our last night in Puligny-Montrachet and were not disappointed - although the menu is short it is very good quality food. I hate to say this but after nearly two weeks in this region my husband and myself fancied drinking some beer rather than wine that night and the restaurant has a good selection, many we had never heard of before. I had the lamb, husband had the beef, some cheese and sorbet followed. All in all an enjoyable meal.
Owned and run by a husband and wife team, this little restaurant delivers simple food sourced from local ingredients and beautifully presented. Its not cheap but you get what you pay for. The host Beatrice is very personable which adds to the charm of the place and speaks wonderful English. We had a lovely dinner and left feeling very satisfied.
We wanted to go somewhere with traditional Burgoyne food and the reviews led us here. Thank you! Delicious beef bourguignon , the chicken was delicious, as were the crepes. I'd never had Kir and that was really good. Excellent service and careful recommendation of a wine to our taste that I'd never tried. I laughed with the owner that next time we are here her husband must teach me to make his beef bourguignon and she agreed. I will hold her to it! We shall definitely return.
We arrived into town a bit earlier than we expected and were pleased to find Le Pelugney open and they had time and space for us! A delightful place owned by a husband and wife team - wonderful food! We shared an appetizer and then had 4 terrific dishes - so delicious! Would highly recommend - also a very tiny place so if you have a larger group you may want to rsvp! We will be back!
We had dinner here more as a default than a first choice. The first choice was closed on our available day. We had a most enjoyable meal and the owner is extremely personable--he speaks excellent English. I highly recommend this place. This is a review from 2015. This year they were closed on both days we were in town--quel dommage!
We stayed in Puligny Montrachet for a week and the good fortune to eat at the Pelugney twice. Although it is operated by a wife and husband team, the service is excellent and the food as well. The beef bourguignon is outstanding and so was the chicken. I was told the the land was also very good. The cheese plate is certainly deserving of praise. Although requests for substitutions are not welcomed, the owners are willing to work with you a bit. Highly recommend it
