Rocroi is a charming village (fortified, medieval style) but the restaurant is a shame. It seems like there's no heater : "La table de Condé" is as cold as it's owner. This is not a traditional french cuisine but some kind of microwave cuisine. We went once with my husband. We'll never come back : too expensive for the quality!

La Table De Condé is a small restaurant (abt. 10 tables inside and 5 in front of the restaurant) right in the center of the old town of Rocroi. We stopped there for lunch on our way back from vacation, and I can really recommend it for that!First of all, Rocroi is a very small fortified village with a lovely medieval center, and it seams to be the ideal stopover for all kinds of travelers (and mostly bikers). The restaurant is one of the three restaurants on the main square. It's nothing special, a bit plain but clean, and the owner is friendly and helpful, although it appeared that he was alone in his restaurant (on a sunday noon!) and had to take care of everything by himself (taking orders, preparing dishes, serving food and drinks and handling payments). This means that we had to wait about 45mins for our 3 dishes to be served. But aside from that, the food was delicious! I had the noix St.-Jacques with Noilly sauce, and my 2 companions chose the tagliatelle with scampi, and both dishes were excellent. The portions are not big, but you only pay about €15 for a main course (and €28 for a full menu), so you still get plenty of value for money.

rocroi is just a few streets around a city square where its few restaurants live. but this place would be worth a detour. a set-course lunch for euros was old-fashioned home kitchen of the art that quickly disappear. Workers... from the market grated shoulders with elegant middle-aged couples, all appreciate the excellent service. another evaluator mentioned “slow food”. Maybe it's dinner! the lunch service was efficient without rushing.

we visited this small town during the week, so it was not busy, nor were the restaurants. we originally wanted to eat next to the table of conde, but no one was interested in serving us so that we were to the table of. good movement for us. the selection of menus (from the store) starting with euro for a cursor menu, as well as a la carte menu. we found both eating and service very well, as the owner is also a caterer. I would like to remind the people that it is a slow restaurant, not a fast eating place. And this place is also a salon de the (tearoom) and the owner knows how to get a propre tee and a long black coffee (or americanan coffee / caffe allonge:) the tee came with hot water and cold milk, my toast with a full coffee. I've never seen that in France. a very pleasant lunch and an interesting discussion with the owner.

we were in a small but special village in the north france. at the central location there was a small restaurant with a small menu, but very good meals.
