We were staying at the Novotel - 8 members of family, on our way south, but didn't fancy the (expensive) Novotel menu for a mixed group of diners, including 2 children and a vegetarian. Le Chamois proved to be a very good 'find' as we started what we thought would be a longer walk to the Courtepaille (!) Children very much enjoyed the galettes and crepes; adults had a variety, including steak (an expensive option) and a huge seafood salad. Vegetarian options included salads, but a mixed-veg galette with chips on the side was excellent.Overall, very good, and reasonably priced (not 'cheap' but not extortionate either). Would eat here again.

Good local waffles and meat grilled over an open fire. Child friendly and helpful. We had the crepes which were lovely

Le Chamois is a great place to eat for those that like steak, fondue or crepes. The vegetarian options are limited and I ended up with the hot camembert and new potatoes. There is a good selection of deserts to follow and the beer is on tap.The staff were very friendly and brought us complimentary Calvados at end of meal. The restaurant is with in walking distance of both the exhibition centre and Zenith arena, so on occasions it can be full and only offers a limited menu. It’s nicely decorated and the tables are not to crowded. Not overly expensive, this was a good restaurant (unless you wanted a good veggie option).

I cant believe their food is too expensive for its quality, bad quality. Breads are old, meat are old, cheese are bad quality, glass are dirty. There is nothing in this restaurant except the location. I came here because i was so hungry and could barely walk to find another restaurant. Mac donald is better quality for a cheap price

The chamois is a savoyard style restaurant serving fondues, steak, raclette etc. The food is fine without being spectacular but the prices are high for the area. Realistically, a couple of people with a bottle of wine, two courses and coffee are going to be at least 70.00€ and potentially more. It's good, but not that good.

Dropped in to this restaurant on a Saturday. Always a good sign when they as if you've got a reservation!Squeezed us in and we were really surprised at the choice on the menu. The food was really well presented and tasted fabulous. 3 courses each, with nibbles before the starters arrived and a carafe of house wine for 85euros.Good atmosphere and a bonus was the French Karioke to entertain us two Brits.Recommended!

We stayed at Novotel Rouen sud three times before and eat time wanted to eat elsewhere but didn't. This time we walked the 500m to le chamois and it was well worth it. it's a lovely restaurant though at the moment has some strange Christmas decor. The quality of the food was among the best we had in France, after nearly three weeks here and the children's menu was good value. It's all around he same price as a restaurant anywhere but cheaper ,just, than the hotel. The chairs and tablespoons very comfortable with large tables, so there's less chance of stuff getting knocked over. I highly recommend it, even with children who have been on the road for 7 hours straight who won't sit down!

We are here with our toddler on a Saturday evening and had a very enjoyable meal. The menu is good, the service was friendly and the atmosphere was lovely. It's right next to the Ibis and a stones throw from the Novotel and honestly, I think it's your best option by far if you're staying in the area and don't want to venture in Rouen.€80 bought mains and dessert for the three of us, plus a bottle of wine and a couple of beers, which is pretty reasonable considering the quality. There is a terrace which is a bit trendier and looked busy, but there is tons of room inside and lots of different seating options. Our toddler was welcomed, and a high chair provided on request. We didn't need to book, and I suspect that unless you get unlucky, there will be room for you on short or no notice. Left feeling fat and happy with no complaints.
