this restaurant has location and ambiente. it is a beautiful ethnic location, almost log cabin, directly at a significant intersection of a series of summer walks and winter ski runs. it is located right next to the tmb mountain railway station, and... also where the road from les houches in the arve valley to bionassay crosses in the bionassay valley. we have often eaten and drunk here, winter and summer, and brought friends and family. Today we had a meeting there for lunch with some friends who stay in our chalet. they came up with the elevator and we went the 8.5 km. I'm late, and I've been chasing a lot of it to come with all the others. the other seven ordered drinks and meals. I couldn't get ready with a lot of food as soon as after the effort, and ordered only a bowl of chips. my order was rejected. seemingly, if they served me with chips, all Dutch people (why would they say this group? would just want chips. I pointed out that I bought for all our guests, and that we were regular guests, but by no means. I could have chips with steak or steak myself. and eat the chips and leave the steak. but no chips alone. we have all gone to go up the hill to eat in the hotel le prarion, which will give them all they are willing to pay and seem to have no problems with ethnicity. Perhaps the courant d’Air has too much business to satisfy their masters?

large small cottage on the mountain, good local kitchen and great atmosphere. limited space, but that makes it especially

the waitress here took rest on a new level. I waited patiently for a table, although I was greeted with an irritable indifference, but when she kicked her friends in the waiting queue before me and told me I was still waiting...and would wait indefinitely, I continued. it does not play a role, how beautiful the location or eating is, no establishment should be gone with someone like this.

in the course of the years we have visited this small mountain restaurant several times. first during our tmb, on a very wet spring day. as already said, the employees can be directly adjacent to the rude, although we were in dripping wet! but I had two winter skiing holidays. in the region in recent years, my view has changed. the owners work very hard, this small restaurant move and have enjoyed many much needed pauses about beautiful coffee, they make them welcome.

It is very French. And as their idea of service is different to other countries, they can be a little sharp with customers, but generally quick. But the location is great and the little house is so cosy. The food is excellent value for money.

We fell into this little place lost in a complete white out- the food looked so good , we stayed to eat and booked for the next day. Superb food, excellent friendly service. Fantastic Ignore the cynics tiny mountain restaurants have to survive and...at lunchtime that means eating not a hardship here by any means

Five of us tried to stop for drinks at 11.30am and were told that we couldn't sit down as they needed the tables for lunch. We explained that we only intended to stay for 15 minutes and despite the many empty tables we were told...in a very rude manner that we could only buy drinks to take away. My friend asked to use the toilets and even though we bought a round of take away drinks, was told they were closed and that she had to use those at the station. Would never return here especially when there are so many other good restaurants in Les Houches where they welcome and respect paying customers (Vielles Luges and la Ferme). Other customers we encountered were also disgruntled by the treatment they received, so it clearly wasn't an isolated incident.
